I often have sautéd brussel sprouts. Much nicer than boiled ones.

Kinda normal but we have never served it or been anywhere that someone has served it.

Not fancy, although they are an essential part of Christmas dinner. Which is kinda Thanksgiving dinner - turkey and all the trimmings. We serve ours stir fried with chilli, garlic and dried coriander.

My in-laws are Greek and their stuffing is traditionally rice based with giblets, raisins, pine nuts and chestnuts. Definitely not the bread stuffing I dream about. I've learned to make many great dishes from my MIL but have no interest in learning to make her stuffing. I'd love to see some of your Greek recipes! My daughter's college roommates were Greek and spent summers in Greece. Ha, my MIL doesn't follow recipes, she just knows how to make the dishes and I've kind of followed in her footsteps. She is the one that taught me to add cinnamon to most ground beef recipes (spaghetti sauce, pastitso, etc.) and nutmeg to spinach pies, along with how to roll dolmades and make avgolemono soup and sauce, etc.

I'm surprised we made it this far without the spelling police pointing out that they are Brussels (with an s) sprouts!
I guess that's my job this thread.

It's so good!

Normal
I make a veggie casserole that uses the frozen California veggie mix (carrots, broccoli & cauliflower). It isn't a festive meal if this is not on the table. No-one is a green-bean casserole fan.

Definitely not. Cornbread, there must be cornbread! hop2 So did MIL, though she didn’t find out until well into their marriage. So the rice thing worksd well for them. I can not, however, recommend rice and spaghetti sauce. Bleh! Giblets gravy? Double bleh! My mother didn’t find out until she was hospitalized when I was 2 which would have made her 29 or 30 ish. I don’t know how or why it came to such a drastic point so far into her life. I just found out at 43 years old, but I found out through a biopsy not because I have symptoms
