I just started The Truth About The Harry Quebert Affair by Joel Dicker (I think I remember that correctly) I heard they are making it i to a film or tv-show now starring Patrick Dempsey.
I've not come far in the book, but if I had the time and could keep myself awake long enough I would have finished it in one sitting. It's a good and fascinating story, well-written but easy to follow. I'm a mystery girl, so it's my cup of tea. But there is a forbidden love story and jealousy involved.
Highly recommend the first 148 pages 😂😂

I just finished reading The Tuscan Child by Rhys Bowen. It was pretty good and a quick read—historical fiction with a romantic ending. I’ve been rereading the entire In Death series, so a bit of light fluff was nice. I read it for book club, so didn’t choose it myself. Thanks for this rec.; I just ordered for my kindle free with Amazon Prime.

I’m only half way through but I’m loving the writing style of Donna Tartt in The Goldfinch. Have you red The Secret History by Donna Tartt? I believe it was her first book, and it's one of my favorite books of all time. It's like a murder mystery, but told in a different way than usual. It's beautifully written and structured. Thanks for the recommendation! I’ll definitely check it out.

I guess it was chosen because on woman wanted a romance. I wouldn’t call it that—it’s more of a historical mystery with a romantic ending. It actually wasn’t a bad story, but it all ended rather quickly and conveniently. Enjoy it for what it is—an interesting quick read.

LOVED Where the Crawdads Sing. Similar to this but more of a thriller, The Marsh King’s Daughter by Karen Dionne. Loved this one even more !

I adore Donna Tartt, but her books are dark.
My favorite book of the year was The Extraordinary Adventures of Sam Hell. So so wonderful.
I also loved The Things We Cannot Say, which was already recommended.
If anyone is looking for an amazing WW2 book, check out The Last Thing You Surrender by Leonard Pitts. The book has 4.64 stars on GR. The rating is well-deserved; this was my second-favorite book of the year. It's kind of combination of Unbroken and To Kill a Mockingbird. Told from four points of view. Note: TW and CW.

Highly recommend the first 148 pages 😂😂 It is already a 10(?) episode series on Amazon. I thought it was terrible (the acting and the makeup), but my husband was totally into it. So it depends on who you asked in my family whether or not we’d recommend.

Did you already order The Great Alone? The ebook is on sale today for $2.99. If you paid full price you might be able to return it and buy it again. Enjoy your books! Thanks for the tip. I didn't know you could return an ebook.... Don't have time to try this, but I think I may actually have gotten it at that price. I appreciate the info! I think you have seven days to return an ebook. You just need to go to your digital orders history and look for your purchase and if it’s returnable you’ll see that option. I heard they do monitor those now and you get flagged for too many returns. I only returned two books right away because I hit the Buy it now button when scrolling too fast, but I might do it to save $7.

The Marsh King’s Daughter was on sale a while back and I passed because my TBR list is so long. Now it’s going on my wish list because I loved Where the Crawdads Sing. On the bright side, I checked and I have The Tuscan Child.

I didn't realize itcwas out, I'll watch it after I finish the book and compare 😊

Thank you for asking this question! I was just thinking I should put a book or two on my Christmas list in preparation for our spring break cruise. This is exactly the type of books I prefer too! Off to check out the recommendations
