I agree with everyone else. I hope you can "revive" your place.
Only you are there. You survived him. He's not there. Dust to dust. You get to enjoy your spot, he does not.
You exist there. He does not. Only dust does and it will be swept away.
Hugs. I hope you can find your way to reclaim your peace.

So it says that Iz's ashes were spread at Makua Beach, but "(U)nlike many Oahu beaches, Makua Beach is not protected by an offshore reef, so the waves can get really high and the currents strong on rough days. The ocean bottom drops off quickly here, so swimmers should stay close to the shore. Fishing and bodyboarding are popular activities on calmer days. There are no lifeguards or facilities here". Perhaps your DD will find a safer beach to do this and your place can still remain just yours? www.to-hawaii.com/oahu/beaches/makuabeach.phpNo worries. The destination beach in question is on the Big Island. She doesn’t want him near Iz, just with a similar, ( but smaller) send off

Maybe try stomping in the sand and spitting in the water like you’re doing it to him. Then let it go. I’m sorry he’s in your space.

He won't be there. Just the ashes of his broken down body will be dispersed there. What was sick and broken in him is gone.

If you think about it, he would only be there until the first good rainfall.
Perhaps you could talk to DD and come up with a compromise that would substantially honor his request yet keep him out of your spot. Maybe 100 yards further down the way so you do not even have to pass him.
