My driveway is a sheet of ice, so I can't go anywhere today. I decided I'm going to work on my December books. Anyone else doing any crafting today?

We have an ice day. I’m catching up with December daily. I’m on day 5.

Me. I homeschool so we’ll be doing lessons but I crafted instead of running errands this morning. I’m going back to it after school.

I should, and I want to. But, I probably won't. Ya know, stupid housework, errands, and life in general get in the way! LOL! Enjoy your day being creative!

I'm working on the last few Christmas cards for the nursing home. Can't wait to put the Christmas stuff away and get going on Valentine/heart cards for January donations.

Just a regular winter day here, so I'm at work. I need to address a few local cards tonight, but I might work a little on my December Documented.

No ice, but a couple inches of snow fell here yesterday evening and last night. I drove through the storm to get home. I have some great photos for my December album, and I printed most of them on the way home yesterday. (Maybe if I had not stopped to print photos, I may have arrived home before the snow started falling, but what would be the fun in THAT?)
Would love to be crafting today, but had to spend the morning getting organized after being away for a week and spending a bit of time with my dgs who is here. I wanted to finish off a bunch of pages I started last week when I had the house to myself in Calgary while the boys were in school. The stuff I needed for final touches was here at home.
This afternoon dh and I need to meet with a lawyer about some land we are leasing to a neighbour. So no playing with paper for me. Have fun, ladies!

I've now had about 2 hours of mostly uninterrupted time to myself! I designed my December books to have just a few pages dedicated to each year rather than a whole book for each year. I started it a long time ago, just adding the photos in order, but now I'm going back and adding the details that make it special. 1998 and 1999 are done, and I'm working on 2000 now. I wish I had better photos from those years when my kids were little, but those were the days when you just snapped the photo and hoped for the best. And I decided to include some of the lovely handmade cards I've received over the years from Peas. What do you all do with your cards after the holidays have passed?

It may hurt some people's hearts to hear, but I chop the fronts off all of them (or at least all that will work on an A2 card base) and repurpose them into new cards to send to card drives. I get 100+ every year and as wonderful as they are I don't have the space or the desire to keep them all. But this way they go and delight another person. If I get a special card from someone I know (or at least "know" in the internet sense) I will add it to my December album in some way - punched in as an insert or taped in - but I can't do too many of those so I try to save that for cards that are really special that also wouldn't work as repurposed cards. I have a special album for photo cards from family and friends - even those tend to get cut down to PL sizes so I can keep the faces without keeping the whole card.

I couldn't get the first link to work, but I love the thought of keeping them in their own scrapbook And those boxes look really cool. Really neat idea! Those are the perfect size for gift cards

What do you all do with your cards after the holidays have passed? I kept a handful after last Christmas and this year as I was putting together the kit of supplies for my Dec album I added in the ones I thought would cut down and work in the album. I only ended up keeping one but I've already used it cut down to a 3x4 card. I wish I'd thought of this and I love the idea of passing on the joy of that card to someone else!

I repurposed last years cards from the peas also. I made gift tags with them. Let someone else enjoy them, too! Have some in a scrapbook, too. And one framed and part of my Christmas decor.

Every year I put all the Christmas cards into a really simple album. It's easy to do, just make a cover from chipboard and my Christmas stash and punch some holes. It doesn't take up much space and it's fun to flip through to see photos from years ago. Here's the tutorial I used: eighteen25.com/christmas-card-books/

I'm all for simple, and ring albums are about as simple as it gets. If I ever start that art journal I've had in the back of my head for years, it'll be a ring album for sure.

Not having any possibility of snow days is going to be the worst part of working from home full time this winter! Enjoy your free day!! I’m working on moving my scraproom out of the same room I work from. I feel like I now spend 10 hours a day in the same room
