CameoBasically you can pay a fee and get a celebrity (singer/actor/reality TV contestant/porn star/politician etc) to film a personalised message for someone. People are using it for birthday messages, proposals, one guy hired someone to break up with his partner. You can click on people's names and listen to some of the messages they have already done. I didn't even know this existed until a few days ago. Some of the prices aren't too bad, and if someone was a big fan of a particular person and they were on there, I would definitely do it if they were in the right price range. There's a few I'd be happy to get a message from, hello Billy Zane... I guess it's the type of gift you give to someone who already has everything! Would you pay for this for someone? Who would you like to get a message from?

I would use it. My friend got another friend a message from one of the Real Housewives (they love). It was funny!

I learned about it just a little while ago. At first I thought it was odd but I would die laughing if someone bought me one from a 90 Day Fiance cast member for my birthday or something.

That's how I first heard about Cameo. I was looking up 90 Day Fiance and a story popped up about Larissa and Cameo. I see David & Annie are a bargain at only $38. I think I would use it given the right celebrity at the right price.

I’ve heard of it and I would totally use it. I think it’s a wonderful gift for someone as well.

OMG, this made me LOL. Now I'm trying to decide who DD would want to hear from. I admit I thought Cameo was ridiculous when I first heard about it, but do think it is the perfect gift for a few friends. Still haven't used it though.

I'm a bit surprised at how "cheap" some of them are.
I'm not generally a celeb stan, I have no interest in meet & greets or paying to get a photo with someone, but in the right situation I'd totally pay for something like this & think it was fun to get one

I have never heard of it, but I would love to get one from my pretend husband, David Cook. I wonder if my real husband bought one if he could request a wink and a crooked smile? I would die and watch it on repeat! I may just have to drop some hints.

Oh gawd, who wants to chip in a portion of the $250 to get Stormy Daniels to send a message to the orange baboon?

I've never heard of it and likely wouldn't pay for something like that.
However, it reminds me of this phone call thing they had when the movie "Snakes on a Plane" came out. There was a website where you entered in specific information about your spouse (kinda like madlibs) - Name, hobby, relationship, favorite restaurant, etc. Then "Samuel L. Jackson" would "call" the recipient and say something like this:
"Hey John, get off your ass and quit collecting stamps. You need to take your wife Jane to dinner at the Olive Garden and then go see Snakes on a Plane" (it was a longer messag and more peppered with motherfuckers, but you get the idea)
I did it for DH and he thought it was the coolest thing ever.

I’ve heard of it, and I know my SIL would love a message from one of the housewives. Might do it for her birthday in January.

What a fun idea! The only one that I would do is David Hasselhoff for DH. Not that DH loves the guy or anything, but he is a HUGE Knight Rider fan. I checked, and the Hoff isn't there. Surprising. That man seems to be willing to do anything for money.

DS sent DH a birthday greeting from a football player on DH's favorite team. It was a fun novelty.

I might depending on the price. Unfortunately the two people that I know one friend would get super excited about are not listed. I can't think of anyone else in my life that would get that excited over such a thing.

Ok who else came in expecting yet another discussion of electroic die cutters? The husband overheard a conversation about cutting fabric with a Cricut and earlier today he was asking "Does yours do that?" I told him no, I'm way behind (Expression) but don't want to upgrade. But then I was thinking ahead if the Expression dies and thinking of the Cameo.
I enjoyed looking through the available talent - many, many I never heard of. And some I haven't thought about for years ... like Greg Louganis. I clicked on one but they were "currently unavailable".
I wonder about the pricing - if it is very low, do you think "affordable and accessible" or "smacks of desperation"?

Who in their ever loving mind would want to hear Gilbert Godfried's voice? It appears the ones I think would be fun are the more expensive ones! I know my daughter would love one of these.

If it was 20 quid I might just for a laugh, but I don't think I'd pay more than that! I don't know who most of these people are, but if there was someone then i can see it make a good joke gift.

Just scanning through the *celebs* I thought it was funny that Chris Harrison was among the most expensive at $500.
