All the movies and commercials show the turkey being carved at the table.
We carve it in the kitchen and bring it to the table ready to eat.
No pretty presentation. What about your house?

I use an electric knife to carve turkeys (and roasts for that matter), so it gets carved in the kitchen. I do put the meat in a somewhat nice presentation on a platter - well, as nice as I can without obsessing about it.

Carved in the kitchen. I put the meat on a pretty platter with a silver serving fork.

The turkey gets carved up and put on a platter. There's no particular presentation on the platter. That platter is set next to the other dishes on the island and people come in to make themselves a plate then go sit wherever they want.

those old pictures of the turkey on the table assumes..food is presented, whisked into the kitchen by the help and then served back to the table. we don't all live in downton abbey....
course, our dining table is 6 ft from the stove.. we gave up on the formal dining room too.

We carve a bit of it in the kitchen, enough for everyone to get some then leave the rest whole and cut as needed at the table. But we generally have a lot left over of the turkey and I prefer to not have to slice it all up and bone it on T-Day. I do it the next day.
