For the month of December, we will all be one happy scrappy team! We will not be competing with each other for points, so our team leaders get a break. BUT we will still have challenges.
If you want to count points to keep you motivated, to see if you can score higher than last month or last year, or if you want to set up a little side competition for points, that is up to you. For those who want to count points, give yourself ONE point for anything you create, AND one point for sharing it with us. In addition, you can use EITHER of these counting methods:
Easy peasy: give yourself 10 points for anything you create that is 5x7" or smaller; 15 points for anything between 5x7" and 8x10"; and 20 points for anything 8 1/2 x 11 or larger.
By the book: give yourself a point for every challenge you have met with your creation, including any bonus points outlined in the challenge.
So feel free to include points and bonuses in your challenges. Also feel free to include challenges to complete holiday prep tasks as well as the "usual". Your challenges can be to create something specific, use a specific theme or colour combo or technique or type of product, anything to encourage us to be creative and enjoy the process.
This list is now CLOSED!!! Thanks for adding your challenges. Hope everyone has fun playing with them!
Challenge #1: Meet any of the "regular" December challenges on this board. This includes the Donna Challenge, the Photo Challenge,...
Challenge #2: Create a page in a December Daily or Journal Your Christmas book, complete with photo and journaling. Each page is worth ONE point. If you complete your 2019 book by Sunday January 5th, 2020, give yourself a BONUS of 100 points.
Challenge #3: Create a Christmas or New Years, Hannacha or any general holiday card for one point. Give yourself a bonus of FIVE points if you actually get that card in the mail or hand deliver it to someone.
Challenge #4: Create an ornament to hang on your tree or display somewhere in your home.
Challenge #5: Make something sweet. Bake a cake or a batch of cookies for one point. Double the points for a double batch, and so on. Give yourself FIVE points if you DECORATE that cake or cookies.
Challenge #6: Spread your crafty $'s around. Give yourself one point for every dollar spent on crafty tools or supplies for other people. PS. You can share that you spent the money before Christmas, and then reveal what it was spent on after the gift has been opened.

Challenge #7: Play TAG! For one point, create a tag, any tag. For an extra point, make it a Christmas tag. For FIVE points, use your tag on a card or LO.

#8 make a memory keeping gift for someone - a calendar or photo book or something else involving crafting and memories and gifting.
#9 no traditional colors - make a Christmas project without using any red or green or gold. Or choose another holiday you celebrate and avoid using its traditional colors.
#10 gnomes, yetis, elves, and trolls - include any kind you like, any way you like. Give yourself a gold star and a bonus point for including a pun or word play.

#41. Counting Down the Days... Saw a December 1st photo prompt on line of "Advent Calendar". For this challenge, you could create a page about your advent calendar, the story behind it, how it was made, who made it. Maybe you buy one every year. Or have started using the adult versions of them (Hey, ddil picked up a BEER calendar for my ds. And I hear there are WEED calendars available ...) Or about someone opening a window or drawer in it. Or document the excitement and anticipation this time of year, but don't forget to include a NUMBER on your page.

#42: Create a Scene! I know many of us live in fear that someone in our family will create a scene at some point during this busy season. And if that is what you want to scrap--go for it! But what I meant by this challenge was to create a scene on a card or a page using diecuts &/or inking &/or stamping. Or, create a scene with holiday décor items: get your elves talking to each other, Santa helping that snowman, sleds sliding down a hill... I just set up a "snow hill" using boxes and a table cloth, and am now figuring out where each little stuffy and figurine needs to go. If you create a 3-D scene, you can claim points again when you include a photo of your scene on a DD or JYC or regular scrapbook page. Have fun!

#43: “out with the old, and in with the new”- This isn’t a challenge to do a NEW LO, but to share an OLD LO. I want to see how your style has evolved. Since it’s the end of the year, it can be like “out with the old, and in with the new”. It would also be fun for you to share a NEW (or recently completed) LO side by side with the old, so we can see just how different your new style may be!
You will receive 5 points for the OLD LO, and 5 for the NEW LO. BONUS 5 points if the new LO was done this month.

KikiPea what a fun challenge! I'm also going to take the opportunity to re-do some of my LOs from 15 years ago, and show the old paper LO side by side with the new digital LO of the same photos.

Oh Dear - you should be careful what you ask for :-) I started scrapping in 1999 - Creative Memories style. Those layouts make me cringe when i look at them now!!
