HIGH POINT, N.C. — No penalty will be issued to a High Point nail salon after a nail technician butchered a deer in the salon, according to the NC Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners.
At the time the deer was butchered, Diamond Nails on North Centennial Street was reportedly closed and the last customer was checking out.
The salon clock in the reception area where the picture was taken shows that the time was 8:05 p.m.and the salon closes at 8 p.m., the NCBCAE says.
No penalty was issued to the salon because the NCBCAE says the board does not have any regulations that address dead wildlife.

Thanks for the update, edie3! I guess it makes a bit more sense now, knowing that it was after hours. But clearly they should have waited till the last customer left! |

Oh, I’m sure there will be a penalty, just not a legal one. If I were a client there I would never set foot in that salon again after this. I would (do) seriously question how sanitary the salon is. If they are butchering animals on the floor, what else are they doing in there? How do I know it is properly cleaned and that I won’t catch some freaky germ while I’m walking around after just having my feet scrubbed? How can I be sure they are properly sanitizing their tools? I doubt I am the only one who feels that way.
