we were in Banff, Canada a couple of months ago and DH picked up some DARK chocolate mint Aero candy. He absolutely loved it. Ive had no luck finding it here.
would anyone be willing to buy and ship me a box of them, or even a few? I will happily pay for this treat for my DH who is a real prince (most of the time 🙃)

The peas were my life line while Spencer was so ill and I know their prayers helped him so much so I'd be more than happy to send you some!

My parents were both born in Canada and we took many visits when I was young. This introduced me to Canadian chocolate treats and really got me hooked. We always brought back a big box every time we visited. My mother loved the Aero bars and Coffee Crisp. Dad loved Mackintosh Toffee. I found a place online run by a man that lives just over the border on the States side. He was asked so many times to make a trip to Canada to buy favorites for friends that he started an online business to do just this. I used to order cases of her favorites and would give them to Mom for Mother’s Day each year. She had to fend off my sisters from taking her Coffee Crisp away from her. I told them I would order a case for them to split when I ordered Mom’s but they never took me up on it. More fun to take it from Mom I guess. There were also these white mints with a vanilla flavor called Scotch Mints. I tried ordering those from several different locations, but could never find the right ones. I guess many companies made them and Mom just liked the one specific brand, but I didn’t know who they were. canadianscrappergirl, it is very nice of you to do this for her. How is your boy doing these days? Still enjoying living at the group facility?

I could look for the mints for you I would be happy to send some! TY so muchfor asking he is doing really well, still loves the group home and does a different activity M thru F. He came out for several days last month and was able to go deer hunting with his dad and one of his brothers and got a buck and a doe. He really enjoyed that and we were so proud of him!

scrappinghappy Did you just go to Banff? Was it your first time? Tell us about your trip! I haven't been to Banff in quite a few years but get to Jasper every year. It's close to me. Mint areo, milk or dark are so good! So are Kit Kats and Coffee Crisp.

canadianscrappergirl He was able to go out hunting? That is awesome! It must have felt wonderful for everyone. It really was when he sent me the photo I got all teary eyed and cried when I called to congratulate him. His dad and brother were so impressed, they set up the tripod for him and he got it in one shot! It was just so nice to see him out enjoying a pastime together that they all love. Prior to him getting sick he was in the planning stage of being featured on a deer hunt on a tv show called Outdoor Quest. His dad have been on there a few times. They are hoping to still get that hunt in next year.

But I'm in Canada (and 1.5 hours from Banff), for future candy needs.

Thank you ALL so much for your willingness to help. I am going to send canadianscrappergirl a pm and hopefully we can figure it out. I am so glad Spencer is doing so well and able to enjoy pastimes with his daddy. And thank you for being so willing to pay the kindness of the peas forward. It always means a lot that this community is so happy to help each other oot (Lol - I learned that in Banff) milocat, we flew into Calgary, rented a car and drove all the way to the Black Cat Ranch outside Hinton where we spent a week. We overnighted near Banff on the way up and in Banff on the way back. The majesty of the whole Icefields parkway was just breathtaking!!! We took a million photos but not one does the area true justice.

Grande Cache mountains by Grande Prairie it's farmland. But the mountains are close, closer than the big city. So we always choose mountains over city.

Highway 93 the Icefield Highway is my favourite of anywhere I’ve driven. Driving straight west I hit it at the Saskatchewan river crossing. There is another type of Areo that is to die for.

theshyone I just hit reply to post the Dark Cherry one when I saw you did already! Amazon.ca has them as an add-on for $2. I bought three for myself and my family scarfed them down after I had one piece. So now my stocking is full of only these and I am not sharing.

You lucky Canadians have the best candy. When I went to PEI my suitcase was so full of candy on my return flight it was drastically over weight limit. The delightful attendants at the airport were so sweet helping me redistribute the weight between my traveling companion bags and my carry on. I am sure they are still talking about the crazy American who apparently bought ALL the chocolate at the grocery store. One of the helpers asked in a very kind, but concerned voice , “Do you not have chocolate in America? “
Aero bars are the end all, be all of chocolate bars.

Just so you know, we don’t call them candy bars. They’re chocolate bars, or chocolate. Candy is only used to refer to items made of only sugar.

They're around, they're the ones that make chicken bones. Yuck, but I don'tlike cinnamon candy. Which I've seen at London Drugs so I assume the chocolate was there too. ganongchocolatier.shop/collections/chicken-bones/products/chicken-bone

We were leaving from Lester B Pearson (Toronto) a couple of years ago and there was a Japanese family trying to check their grossly overweighted luggage. When they opened it up, chocolate bars were spilling out everywhere. They ended up throwing out clothing and shoes until they met weight (they kept all of their chocolate).

Not chocolate, but when dh’s buddy was playing hockey and living in the US, his pregnant (also Canadian!) wife had huge cravings for Old Dutch salt and vinegar chips. Dh went to visit them and took basically no luggage for himself and a big ole hockey bag stuffed full of chips. They weren’t heavy, but the drug dog was sure interested in the bag 😆. He didn’t give the drug ‘alert’ but he made a fuss and the handler asked dh to open his bag ... and then gave him a hard time about his ‘snack’ for the trip!

I have to say our chips really do kick ass compared to the potato chips I've tasted in the states.
