Here's a few simple ones I did today w/some papers and die cuts from Pink Paislee and some cheapy card bases and envelopes from the Target dollar spot.

LOVE those cards, @zingermack! Here are my open box cards, one for Christmas and one for a birthday: gnome greeting by Gramma Dee, on Flickr robot box card by Gramma Dee, on Flickr I need to save this card pattern and remember to use my ScorePal next time so the measurements are more accurate and the folds more crisp.

@zingermack I love all your cards. That's a really pretty paper pad Aww, thanks. And the funny thing is, I was sitting down to do JYC, but a lot of the die cuts didn't work for that, so I kept the ones that will work and then I was like "I guess it's time to make cards" - which is what I always do w/patterns or die cuts I don't like - bad me.

Those are great cards, zingermack! Thanks for sharing them here. I love your variety, too.
Your open box cards are adorable, grammadee! I haven’t see that version of a box card before. Thanks for starting the December card sharing thread.

Your open box cards are adorable, grammadee! I haven’t see that version of a box cafd before. Thanks for starting the December card sharing thread. The instructions are attached to this Paper Wishes webisode (and the tutorial for them comes in the second half of the video). I changed the size of the original card to 9 x 5" so that it would fold flat to a 7 x 5" size., but once you decide on the size you can do a lot with it.

Thanks for the link. I probably could have figured it out, since it’s just a variation on a basic box card, but she did one thing slightly different than I expected (the front panel).
I will probably just create a cutting file version with my Silhouette software. I won’t have time to play with it today, unfortunately.
I love box cards and all their variations!

Thanks for the link. I probably could have figured it out, since it’s just a variation on a basic box card, but she did one thing slightly different than I expected (the front panel). I actually attached the front panel last, b/c I liked the idea of filling in the scene from the back to the front. In the bd card, I extended the row of cupcakes all around both ends. In the gnome card, I left the side panels to last so they went on after that last snowdrift strip wrapped around the front of the card. Have a question for you gramma. It was easier when I actually dug out my score pal to measure and score the folds, but should I be measuring a little LESS than 5" for a panel inside a 5" box card. Looking forward to seeing yours.

grammadee For box cards I cut the inside panel just slightly smaller. That allows for the folded tab to fit and the card to fold and close nicely.

These are my first slimline (number 10 business envelope) cards. I've made about 30 of these cards with a Lori Whitlock svg file, cut on my ScanNCut. I used all of the blue cardstock I had and then went and bought more shades of pale blue. The one grey card is actually a shimmery silver-grey. I tried a shimmery white with ink blending but the blue cardstock was much faster! Kraft envelopes and the sentiment is shown to the right. Love your box cards grammadee . I haven't made anything like this, I will have to try it and thank you for the instructions link. joblackford those cards are adorable, I will definitely have to check that cut file out. Never made a whole card on my scanncut. Thanks. I’d never tried this before either! I made a couple of alterations to make the design work better for me. The original file had a single white piece with the back of the card and the fancy cut front and a score line that was done in little cuts, like perforations, plus an inner blue piece that would be the background to the forest. I didn’t like the way the score line folded (jagged-y looking) so I deleted it. I tried scoring the card by hand but that was a hassle. So I ended up cutting the main piece in half where the old score line was, and I used the plain white back piece as the inside panel of my card. I cut blue cardstock into 8x8.75” pieces and folded them at 4” to make the card bases instead of just using the blue piece as a small panel - cutting basic rectangles with the SNC just seems like a waste to me. Hope that makes sense. It probably wasn’t the most cost effective method, since I’m sure the blue was more expensive than my basic white cardstock, even on sale, but it worked out fine for me and I like the blue card bases. Ideally I would’ve edited the file so it only cut the fancy front piece and the birds. It’s much faster for me to cut straight lines with my trimmer and save the blade on my SNC. But I couldn’t figure out how to edit the file beyond deleting the score line. One day I’ll upgrade my skills!

Thank you. I felt a bit stupid today when I realized that I had sentiments that would've looked really nice on these cards... AFTER I sent out 30 of them! I'll call it minimalism, but sometimes I just forget to add finishing touches... (now I'm thinking that I could've added other embellishment too) http://instagram.com/p/B58LPf3p7OU

Those are great cards, joblackford!
The people who got the cards will never realize that there could have been one more embellishment. It’s a great card either way.

joblackford why don't you cut the shape out of black cut it to size and scan it into the machine. This way you can shape it the way you want it( smallerA2, maybe square?) I have done this with die cut shapes my friends give me. This way you only cut the front and no need editing the file.

Now that I’ve mailed all my cards for our pea card exchange, I’ve finally found my card mojo I’ve made 24 cards this week! Which is good since I still need to mail to friends and family! All my cards are simple but they still take me forever. I’m the worlds slowest crafter! I made 12 of these earlier in the week.

I just finished 12 of these this morning. I followed a sketch called sheet load of cards and really liked how quick and cute they were.

I just cut everything for 12 more cards that I will put together tomorrow Sure would have been nice if I had found this crafting energy earlier in the season! I guess I’ll just keep going and get a head start on next years cards I’m hoping to donate to Cards for Soldiers and Caring Hearts next year. So as slow as I am I should probably start now!

My dgs loved his card. He liked the robot and how he could manipulate it, but his favourite part was “the hidden 6”

grammadee he is adorable and he has a huge smile. Little ones are the best handmade card recipients. I remember when my niece and nephew got a special card and they were so excited about it.

My anniversary is tomorrow, I made DH this card because he loves woods/mountains/camping. It is hard to tell in the pic, but I cut the mountain out and popped it up, and watercolored the cabin. I am pretty happy with it!
