I've been invited to a "latke party" in my new neighborhood. There aren't too many Jewish people in this neighborhood and one of them is organizing a latke party. For those of you that do not know, latkes are similar to hash browns. They are usually served with sour cream and applesauce. I told her that I love to cook and asked what could I bring. So I'm bringing homemade applesauce and dessert. I haven't met my new friend yet or the others. What would you bring for dessert? Not sure what else she is going to serve.
I was thinking about making a noodle kugel and a batch of chocolate chip cookies. Any other ideas and suggestions greatly appreciated. TIA

Sufganiyot!
Or pick up Dunkin Donuts. But homemade donuts are the best!

Sufganiyot is the traditional Hanukkah sweet.

Another vote for Sufganiyot! I just had some, along with latkes, in Epcot at WDW last week at the Jewish food stand for the holidays.
If you don’t want to make homemade, jelly donuts from anywhere will do.
Because of the miracle of the oil, traditional Chanukah foods are fried in oil - hence, latkes and sufganiyot. So, even if you choose something different for dessert, aim for something fried - donuts or churros or funnel cakes or something else fried in oil - and explain the oil connection.

Sufganiyot Are not really hard to make but the Dunkins around here make extra jelly filled munchkins this time of year because that’s what people buy for Hanukkah ( Chanukkah )

I’d go for a chocolate babka. Beautiful, easy to do in advance, and less messy than frying.

Sufganiyot. I was going to make some for a breakfast I'm invited to in the morning, but I'm too lazy to get up early and fry them up. I also thought kugle.

Jelly donuts or any donuts
Sugar cookies cut out in Hanukkah shapes.
I would buy the donuts. Kugal is more of a main dish around here.
