So, I teach a Mass Comm class and I am putting together an interactive activity about the old days of the internet to show GenZ what they missed (lol), and I ran across the Way Back Machine (again....forgot about it). Anyway, I picked a random date from 2peas of old: June 2004 Two Peas In a Bucket
Gosh Lauren was a miserable person. Boy our demographics have AGED so much (pg peas, TTC peas, breastfeeding...) Not a Old Person thread in sight. We still get LIVID... Only see a couple of recognizable names.... Oh, the days when some thought Bush was the worst we could do.... Have fun.... If you find a gem, post it.

The funniest thing to me was I saw the thread: "Whatever happened to colored toilet paper" and thought "that has to be Sharlag" and it was - she has not changed one bit!

WOW... thanks for sharing.. what a blast from the past. I just scanned it.. I can't believe I didn't start one thread in 8 pages. Maybe I was on vacation or I didn't post much around that time?? I can't wait to dig in a little more to see what we were discussing. I did recognize a few peas from here.. and some oldies.. Thena!!!

The date that came up for me had you as one of the top ten posters! Threads included peeing on toilet seat and calling co-worker out. Big brother thread Non Disney holiday Breast cancer

I still look forward to reading "My dogs stole Baby Jesus and how they had to miss the Christmas parade for being naughty.
2. What was the deal with Lauren's son? Why was he rarely mentioned, but she'd rag on her cute grand daughter's Mom?
3. What happened to the lady would would post her earnings day trading and told people they were stupid investing in gold. She had a son and maybe a bunch of cats.

Wow crazy. I usually hung out in the Pub and General only back then. I remember everyone tooting when they got pubbed. I only got one very small one. HA!

I still love the graphic of the bucket itself 😊 Just seeing that bucket pop up on my screen was a blast from the past and I haven’t even wandered in yet! I had just started reading in June of 2004 and officially signed up and started posting right around the election. Quinn was two, and she’s graduating high school this June! Seems like a long time ago and also like yesterday.

Oh wow, I’m glad to see that the use of LIVID goes back that far. A few years ago a really sweet poster earnestly described herself as livid in some sort of scenario (since we’ve been on this board), and I always thought people were just making fun of her when they joked around about being “pea livid”. It always made me feel so bad for her!

Some of the signatures are awesome LOL.
I noticed a reference to someone’s “YaYa name” in a signature, and I have vague memories of that. I don’t think I ever had anYaYa name, though.
Can someone refresh my memory of what that was all about?
I think 2004 was around the time I started dipping my toe into the world of NSBR after getting started with general scrapping, so this way back post is really interesting to me!

This would have been about the time I discovered 2Peas. I only lurked in those days and seeing this reminded me of why I didn't post: it was the wild, wild west and a bit scary for newbies.

Wow crazy. I usually hung out in the Pub and General only back then. I remember everyone tooting when they got pubbed. I only got one very small one. HA! I loved The Pub! I always posted in the Good morning thread. I miss those ladies! Some names I remember are boatwife, dnksmommy, njoyscrappin, I can't think of others at the moment. But it was always fun to "talk" to them.
I also spent a lot of time on General Scrapping. And the Gallery was so much fun to check every day. I miss those days!

I stuck to the pub too. Don't even remember what my name was though. funny. I played in the layout a day threads a lot. It got me motivated.

2. What was the deal with Lauren's son? Why was he rarely mentioned, but she'd rag on her cute grand daughter's Mom? . Laurie's son was a drug user. He was in and out of jail several times if I remember right. That brings up another Lori topic, she went after another Pea because she had given custody of her kids to her ex-husband following the divorce. It was in the usual vicious way that Laura could do. Come to find out that, when she got divorced, her son was living with her ex and her daughter was living with her. Pot meet kettle.

If memory serves it had to do with the book, The Divine Secreta if the Ya-Ya Sisterhood by Rebecca Wells. It was published, and peas went bonkers over it. They made up ya-ya names for themselves like the young characters did in the book (one of the character’s ya-ya name was Countess Singing Cloud). I think it was just something silly they did. I don’t think there was an official Ya-Ya group, though I may be wrong about that.

I'm fairly sure I was lurking around that time. In 2004 I was a SAHM to two toddlers, so things around that time are pretty fuzzy. I joined/started posting like late 2005/early 2006, I think. Was definitely posting by May 2006 when I went back to work. The board was definitely a wild and crazy place back then.

This was before my time, because Lady Stars had already had her epic flip by the time I arrived. It's weird to see her name there.
