What white pen do you use and like?
I bought 2 Sakura Jelly Roll Pen .5 and it stinks!!!
I used it as best I could on a project but will be tossing them when I am done.
So what pen do you like?
Looking for easy of use, bright white, and one that works.

Lol, I have the sakura too. I have to go over the lines 2 or 3 times, but it will actually look white when I'm done. I'll watching this thread for a better one.

I'd also love to know what people are using for white pens. For white dots, -and this only works for dots- I use airbrush acrylic white + a tiny ball ended scoring tool. Makes perfect circles every time, but I'd love to also do lines and paint is darn hard to keep to a consistent width.

Until a friend turned me onto the trick to get the white pen working, I couldn't find one I liked. Tossed many pens over the last 25 years. My friend told me to lick your finger and "write" on your finger with the white pen. Turns out there's something in our saliva that helps un-clog the ball point. That was after I had taken many Sakura, Signo and other pens apart to clean out the clogs. What a difference! (Note: Yucky & Ick factors ahead!!) Then I heard that one of the most used "solvents" used in art restoration/conservation is saliva. Who knew.

I have Sakura and Signo Uni-ball. I prefer the Signo.
And to get them to work I just scribble a bit on the inside of my wrist. The ball/ink needs warm up in order to work properly. I've never needed to use saliva, though. Just a quick scribble.

Uniball signo. However, they dry quickly... I get a new one every 6 months because they stop writing (and saliva doesn't help I've tried!)

I got the uni posca extra fine pen from Amazon. Takes a light hand, but I really like it. Works great on dark colors. There was a thread here on pens a year a two ago and I think? nicolep mentioned these so I got one lol very glad I did!

AE had done a white pen test /review and I think in the end it was her favorite. I thought I'd try it and I ended up loving them!

I have a bottle of this and one of these . I still have white pens but I find there are times when this is the answer.

Uniball Signo Sharpie white water based marker - you really have to shake it up and write on scrap paper to make sure it's good and opaque. You can find it at the big box craft stores.

I have better luck with the Sakuras than the Signos. They last longer for me. I also use paint pens (liquetex, molotow, posca).
ETA - I tend to hold the pen straight up and down when I use them, I don’t know if that has any bearing on the ink flow or not.

Another vote for Uniball Signo and also the POSCA pens.

I use a Uniball Signo, but didn’t use any white pens for a while. I’ve had brand new pens that were just bad from the get go. I find I replace them once a year or so no matter what technique I try to make them last.

Sakura works well at .8 or 1.0, the .5 is too thin. I have Posca and Uni Signo too. Posca is very fluid, Signo dries quickly and Sakura is in the middle. For thinner papers Sakura or Signo. Posca should only be used on heavier weight papers.
I can actually write/draw on top of Sakura too with other media.

After trying a zillion that would work for a little while then dry up, I finally found one: a Posca paint pen. Works GREAT.
