I would love to know.
About 3 yrs ago I broke my wrist. 2 day after the cast went on I started getting a rash like you described. Only at night, I could almost predict the hour it was going to start. I was miserable but just as quick as it started 5 days later it ended and I never had another problem. Never did figure out what caused it.

Stress will cause me to have hives. Is there something going on, maybe an hour or so earlier that causes you stress?

I believe that leukotrienes are produced by the body at night. They are inflammatory mediators that are involved in allergic response. That doesn't help you resolve the issue, but that may be why.
