label the container or the freezer bag? It drives me crazy when I have to just about empty the freezer to find something when it would just take a few seconds to write the contents down. Giving myself a kick up the backside right now to remember to do this in future.

OMG! I do the same thing. It is so frustrating. I should really label stuff. Especially given that I package items for when there is just four of us and when there is seven of us. I am guilty of not taking enough pork chops out or taking too many out because I haven't adequately labeled what's in the bag.

I always blame those on DH. He falls for it.

Because if you labeled them that would make life easier and who the hell wants that.

I do it too! I always think I'll remember what's in the bag. I swear it takes on a different size/shape/color/identity when frozen and suddenly it's all a mystery. I need to reach for a Sharpie more often.

Well, I don't have a DH any more (you can take away the D and just read H or ex!) so can't do that!!!
And, another thing is when I have put everything back in the freezer, I go out into the kitchen and think what is that on the work surface? Only something that is now partially defrosted that I missed putting back in. Duh!! At least that doesn't happen very often. Just a little crazy-cakes, I guess!

I'm pretty good about labeling stuff, but my husband rarely does. We end up throwing stuff out because we can't figure out what the heck it is and when it was put in the freezer.

Because the search is part of the fun! "I know I have a package of chicken thighs I here somewhere. Oh, hey, I forgot about the ham. A turkey? When did I buy a turkey? And who put bananas in the freezer?"

I know the feeling I'm trying to use up some freezer stuff and I was *certain* I'd remember what that bag of brown meat was

And when I do label things, why is it that the one thing I'm looking for turns out to be the only package that has had the label fall off!!

My facebook status one day a couple of weeks ago read "My plans for a pork stir fry for dinner turned vegetarian when I realized that the tenderloin I took out of the freezer was actually a turkey neck."

I don't because every time I put a sharpie in the kitchen drawer someone runs off with it. Having random sharpie markers floating around my house still makes me nervous even though my youngest is ten.

Yeah, I have those mystery ziplok bags in my freezer too. They eventually get thrown out.

Having random sharpie markers floating around my house still makes me nervous even though my youngest is ten. I worry about Sharpies in the wrong hands. I keep them away from the regular markers as an extra precaution.

I always think "oh, I'll remember what this is." I wish I did because I have a couple of mystery packages in my freezer right now.
