Scraps of one-canoe-two paper. Created the plaid paper with a stencil to peek out from behind - IRL it's pearly white texture paste. (plain navy looked too drab). Pink Fresh frames. Various stickers and old thickers. And.... thread tangles! My DD left a discarded piece of embroidery floss on my desk that matched, so I pulled it apart and used it! layout in conclusion by kirstendrew, on Flickr

I used the 'Garden Pop' kit by Kim Jensen, and paper bags from the 'Brown Bag Bliss' set also by Kim Jensen. I bought the paper bags last month, and had no idea what to do with them. This is what I came up with.

More fun with Vicki Boutin gesso, gold glaze and art crayons. I’m not crazy about how this turned out, but I think it’s mainly because I needed a lighter background. I need to stock up when I go to convention in April. #jjwattjames #im4 #March2019 #americancrafts #vickiboutin #vickiboutingoldglaze #vickiboutingesso #vickiboutinartcrayons

Whew! such a lot of creative energy here! Think I am up to date on comments in the threads and on Flickr. Sixty five shares since a week ago! Can't believe all the different styles and colour combos and just plain scrappy goodness!

I've gotten quite a few more pages done since I last posted, but nothing I love. They are kind of blah and just put together to get pages done I suppose. These two are favorites from the bunch. Apparently my youngest has been my inspiration lately since it's all his pictures I'm inspired to scrap and end up liking. The rest have been vacation pictures and I guess I'm just getting bored with them but still want to get that album finished! 3 by Boy Mom, on Flickr ollie bear by Boy Mom, on Flickr

I love how the gold pops off the page since it's different, but compliments the color scheme. It may not have been what you envisioned, but it looks great!

KikiPea, I love both your mixed media and your classic style LO's. Love how you can cluster so many pretty things around and under your photos. I think you will become more comfortable with using mixed media as just another layer and it won't be so stressful. Love the doggie birthday page: perfect title! If you are looking for a white background, Vicki Boutin does two pads: one plain for you to play with colour on, and one with the background of random blended colour already on the paper. The second one is just gorgeous! Love the beautiful photo stretched across the page, the deep blues with the pops of brights in the tucked in diecuts. And you know what? No one cares if you are "on trend". The only thing that is important in this hobby is that you are having fun and that you like your pages... craftymom101, I will catch yours on Flickr in a bit.

Thank you, that means a lot. I do have Vicki’s premade pad. I’m not big on all white backgrounds, which is one reason why I think the mixed media is such a struggle.

MDscrapaholic, I love your page about Big Brother. What a adorable way to announce the news. That shirt is so cute. The look on his face says it all. He’ll be a great big brother. I love the design of this page. The focus is squarely on that cute photo. I love the colors and the arrows. KikiPea, your Happy Birthday page is so cute. I don’t think he is enjoying the hat, but I’ll bet he enjoyed everything else. I love your mixed media dimensional dots. I love the colors on the background that look like a party! Cute work. ~ Your Right Here page is beautiful. That photo is gorgeous. Your clusters are always amazing. I wish you taught classes in that. The tropical leaves and flowers are just the perfect embellishment. Lovely! So many beautiful layouts posted this month! I think I caught all the rest in the gallery.

craftymom101, it’s hard to compete with cute baby pictures—and you do a marvellous job scrapping them. Looks like you have fun doing it. And I find the process of “finishing an album” pretty gruelling after the excitement of setting it up. Love your page about the older kids. The bold lines and colours give it a sporty look. And you can’t go wrong with stars on a boy’s page. KikiPea , when you have an enlarged photo, it doesn’t leave much real estate to scrap, but boy, do you USE that space! LOVE that border strip so full of things to look at!

I have some catching up to do! Sorry! I finished this card I started for the challenge I set earlier in the month using bleach, etc to send to my mother’s cousin. The butterfly is Transformation from The Ton stamps. January cards by jo.blackford, on Flickr I finished this card from that same challenge. I used some random dark green cardstock and a little bleach to color the clear embossed butterfly. The stamp is from Pinkfresh Studio, benefitting NICU families. January cards by jo.blackford, on Flickr Here’s the white embossed version. January cards by jo.blackford, on Flickr These are the finished batch of the cards I made using my old paint chip calendar pages, cut with the ScanNCut. They’re for the Cards for Little Hearts drive for kids with heart conditions. January cards by jo.blackford, on Flickr This is a design I’m experimenting with using 3 cat stamps (one is turned on it’s side to look like a 4th stamp). I was stumped with how to use them all until I discovered the slimline card style. The hello comes from a Waffle Flower set. January cards by jo.blackford, on Flickr I had some random leftovers that came together into this card one day when I was looking for other things to put on other cards. The coffee cup and sentiment are from Honey Bee stamp sets, I think, but the papers are Doodlebug Cream & Sugar scraps. January cards by jo.blackford, on Flickr I also have some Doodlebug cards that I’ve added to my shop that I’ll try to share tomorrow.

Well, nothing like the last minute... I have tried to access my photo account on Flickr, but with no luck, so I had to open a new account. I tried to link to the 2 Peas gallery, but I will need to wait for approval.
I was able to complete 17 layouts this month. I like the new simplified point system, so for awhile I will just stick with that. maybe I will be back on my game next month. So excuse my many posts to come as I try to remember how to do this. I have missed you all.
