If you read the books, they do have to be worried.

If you read the books, they do have to be worried. I don't remember them getting sick from it in the comics, Rick took care of them before they had the chance. Now Dale did spin quite the tale about how they would get sick. The whole "tainted meat" thing. Did it make them sick in the comics?

whoa, thanks, Canadianscrapper for that link. wow! I hope we see what is going on with her very soon! You are welcome! Took me a bit to find the link for some reason it wasn't really visible on the AMC YT channel. I hope they show something about her in this next episode!

Okay did I miss something how do we know that FG was having an affair with a parishioner
<snip> I snipped some of the other quotes and it looks like it didn't take well so this is trying to quote off canadianscrappergirl. Someone can correct me if I am wrong but I think it is a guess based on the reaction he had when he saw her in the food pantry and then later when he was looking at a photo of the two of them. My first thought was affair.

Clearly, she was important to him - I went immediately to priest/affair.

The reaction was so strong, and the photo so uncomfortable looking...and all that talk about sin, I wondered if it were that there was inappropriate and forced relations (i.e. sexual harassment) between the two.

Oops, I forgot about the denomination. I do remember reading St Sarah's Episcopal Church on the sign now.

Okay you all read more into the FG and parishioner thing then me apparently lol, I just thought he cared about her and was upset at her being a walker. In that same vein if he could be married how do we not know it wasn't his wife/fiancée/GF

I think she was simply his wife. He's a coward, saved himself at the expense of everyone including her.
I'm pretty sure it was Gareth & Co who were watching the group in the woods, looking for the perfect time to take them out one by one.
Did y'all see, TTD announced a "surprise guest" for the next show... that means they can't announce who it is because the character dies. I'm guessing it is either Bob or Gareth.

I did here Chris say there would be a surprise guest but I don't think it means the guest is a character who will die and I can't see it being Gareth because I think there is more to show with that story/rivalry.
When they had the actor on who played Hershel I don't believe he was a secret guest, and he was on right after the episode where he died aired if I remember correctly.
I guess we will see!!
Oh and I agree with your thoughts on FG!

It's making me craaaazy to see how long this thread is. I won't read any of it, 'cause I'm a whiny CRYBABY about the comic book spoilers, but I'm just popping in (hands clamped over my ears while humming the theme sing) to say this:
I thought last week's trough scene was the apex of Walking Dead shock, but that campfire scene? Now, THAT takes the cake. That gnawing. Urg. And Hipster Gareth is not dispassionate and all-business, like I thought. He's a mean SOB.
That's all. Carry on. < la-la-la-LA >

My first thought was affair. That's what I was thinking when I posted it. I completely forgot about the denomination, so it very well could have been his wife. So while it would excuse him from the off-limits-affair charge, it would make him an even bigger asshole if he locked his parishoners and his wife out of the church!! That is, of course, based on my assumption that that's what he did. Never thought about him working w/the Termites! Definitely a possibility. Could be Morgan in the woods, but I think it's them. Of course, I've been wrong many times before, lol.

Can someone refresh my memory on Morgan? I remember that he is the guy from the first episode that introduces Rick to the ZA after he wakes up from his coma, and I remember he was there with his son and he was trying to get up the nerve to finish off his wife. I also remember the episode where Rick, Michonne, and Carl run into him again in his little fortress town. But I think maybe I missed an episode where he appears again after that. Why do some of you think he is watching them in the woods? What else has he been up to?

We do see him again in a little spot that ran after the credits of this season's first episode. They show a man all covered up - hood & mask & everything - walking down the tracks toward Terminus. He sees the sign Rick painted over and then turns around so we can see his face. He pulls off the hood & mask and it's Morgan! Then he looks toward the woods, sees a tree w/some sign carved into it, like someone is marking a trail and he begins to follow it (there's another tree w/the sign right after the first one). And that's all we see.

LOL that is why I love starting this thread is because I have all these theories too and some are way off base, and some I totally get right and no one at first believes me(especially in my family) example Tyrese really didn't kill Martin and one from last season was when Rick was under the bed and those 2 guys from Joe's group were wrestling I said that the guy that saw him while he was fighting the other guy was only knocked out but most thought the guy had killed him.
Yeah regardless of the church lady(makes me think of Dana Carvey on SNL) and her relationship to FG either way the guy is a douche I am thinking and yeah I stand by my theory that he is working with either the termites or another group, again I could be wrong lol.

Regarding the Termites getting sick from eating Bob if he was bitten, isn't there a disease cannibals get just from eating people? Even if Bob wasn't bit, they should still be going for real crazy from all the people they are eating. Also, is it common knowledge that everyone will turn when they die and that the zombie-ness is just in people now? I know Rick and his crew learned it from the cdc guy, but not everyone may know that, right? It is quite possible that the Termites haven't seen anyone turn from a natural death and don't know this, correct?
And regarding the comics, I know that Carol and Tyrese were an item, but he cheated on her with Michonne, but it seems to me Rick and Michonne are kind of leaning towards a romance on the show. Also, are Maggie and Glen a couple in the comics?

The termites seen to have been eating people for a while now with no adverse effects. According to my very scientific research of Kuru, conducted after I posted the question on the interwebs, no less, Kuru is the disease and it usually takes 10 years to develop, so I guess it won't be much of a plot point on the show. Bummer, I was hoping to see the Termites contracting it. One of the symptoms is uncontrolled laughter, and we need some more laughter on Walking Dead!!!

Isn't kuru spread by eating brains? I'm pretty sure the Termites weren't eating the brains. They seemed too smart for that.
I didn't even think about Father Gabriel and the church lady as being spouses/lovers. The picture of them together just looked like a pastor and parishioner having a picture snapped together. Because she was at the food bank, I assumed that she had been a very active church volunteer and he had known her quite well. Because he had locked everyone out of the church, she died and he felt guilty. I think he would have kept his wife or lover with him.

The termites seen to have been eating people for a while now with no adverse effects. However, they also made a point to eat people that were not yet turned or had no evidence of being bitten. Let me throw this out there....I just rewatched *that* scene, and Gareth mentions that it was "cosmic justice" that it was Bob. I'm going to jump out on a limb here (sorry, LOL) that one of the groups Bob was with prior to joining up with Rick's gang was the Termites. Possibly before they were physically at the Terminus location. Video link below. SPOILERS obviously.

About "cosmic justice", I interpreted it to be referring to the beginning of the episode where Bob was at the trough about to be slaughtered. But it would be an interesting twist that one of the previous groups Bob was with was eradicated/consumed by the Terminans! Poor guy really does seem to be bad luck!

That makes sense - I was wondering why he used the term 'cosmic justice', when it was Rick who seemed to do most of the killing at Terminus. Interesting . . .
