Hey guys I got a package in the mail on Saturday. It's a beautiful silver cuff bracelet with a verse about best friends engraved on the inside. It came in a gorgeous case and a really nice note also about friends, no signature. It doesn't seem like something mass produced and looks very expensive. No other paperwork came with it. It was shipped from Ohio and I live in Illinois.
I looked up the address and called the company. They moved from there 3 years ago. So I did some more research & the current renter is a trucking company. So I'm at a dead end. I even asked if someone does anything like this that worked there, "No only men work here" Okay then.
I don't want to start asking my friends, in fear that I may hurt some feelings. I thought of two friends right away & thought I'd wear it and see if they comment on it but one of them lives in Florida.
The name in the return address is HY and under that it says RICKY What would you do?
It was sent by my friend in Florida!

So it was actually handwritten TO you. Addressed to you?
You said you looked up the Co? the co that made the bracelet? and they moved? The return address only says HY?

I looked up the return address The return address read
HY RICKY 7541 Pingue Dr. Columbus Ohio
I looked to see what company was at that address and called them. They moved 3 years ago So looked for a newer listing called them and they are a trucking company. No one there makes jewelry.

And to be clear, the company that moved 3 years ago did NOT make jewelry? It looks like the person's name is Ricky Hy. Sometimes the formatting ends up weird. Honestly, if a friend had no idea where a gift came from b/c the company (or I) forgot to put sender information in there, I totally would not be offended if they asked. Why do you think it'd hurt feelings?

And it WAS addressed to you by name and address, right? Is the label printed or handwritten?
I think you should ask your friends about it. Can’t imagine why they’d be hurt by the question.

I don't want to imply that they aren't a "best friend". I'm not sure how to word that. Hey, I got this beautiful bracelet did you send it to me? No ok my our best friend must have sent it. UGH

Can you just mention it in conversation, " The strangest thing happened to me recently. I received a package addressed to me with a beautiful bracelet in it, but I have no idea who sent it to me! Sure hope it's not a stalker! Lol"

Are you on social media? I would probably post a picture and say thank you to my mystery friend. Maybe someone will claim it.

I think you should just start thanking all your friends one by one and see who doesn't look confused. I would really ask my closest friends personally individually and then I would post on Facebook: "I received the most beautiful bracelet in the mail, but the gift card was missing. If you sent it, please let me know so I can thank you." Maybe someone didn't read the quote closely enough to realize it was about best friends instead of just friends.

One year I received a desktop computer, just before Christmas, that I hadn't ordered. I live on the East coast and it came from a legitimate company on the West coast. It turned out to be an attempt at credit card fraud, but I still don't know how the scheme was supposed to work since no one had used my credit card. I ended up returning the computer to the company after they sent me a pre-paid mailing label.

Wayyy back in the day of bento boxes I had a friend who posted on fb how cute this certain one was... and it would be perfect for her... so I ordered it off Amazon and had it sent to her... I just assumed it would say something about who bought it... but it didnt!
She was surprised to get it... but really didn't know I sent it... she posted a generic thank you on fb... I called her up to let her know it was me...
Just do that.. post a thanks on fb and the mystery friend will say you're welcome!!!

Someone once used my credit card to order a camera. Thankfully the company called me to up sell me some accessories. The guy that ordered was having the camera sent to Ohio.

OK - I love a good mystery so I googled. The company that used to be there (Johnson Plastics) also does all sorts of engraving. Maybe they are still using old labels. I would do what others suggested: post on your social media saying you want to thank whoever sent the lovely gift.

This happened to me once a few years ago. A package arrived with no information about who had ordered it. I posted on FB and said a magic elf had brought me a gift and it was lovely and I would like to thank someone properly. The shipper had not included any information about the purchaser and I was able to discover who had sent it.

Shortly after we moved to Belgium, a neighbor texted us and said that she had picked up a package from the steps of our old house. It was a PlayStation from QVC. We contacted the company and someone had taken out a QVC card in our name. It seems that that fraudulent people will have packages shipped to a house and will try to intercept the package before you pick it up. Run a credit check and see if anyone has opened a CC in your name. Put put an alert on your acct if nothing shows up. We actually froze our credit. The QVC CC hadn’t shown up on our acct yet, so we wouldn’t have known if we hadn’t called QVC. It took a lot of hours on international calls, but the resolution was straightforward and QVC has a whole fraud department to deal with this.

My son got a package from Amazon in November. They put it back on the return box (a set of boxes for a group of homes). It came back to them. They put it in their house and looked up the name on FB. Couldn't find her. After about a month, my other son opened the mystery box. It was a box of vaginal suppositories. Your mystery gift sounds much better.

We once received a package from Costco that had two fleecy blankets in it. No card no nothing. So I just posted on Facebook thanking my secret Santa for the blankets and that I didn't know who it was from. A week later, the sender contacted me so I was able to thank them properly. Maybe do that?

It was a month of what could be in this box mixed with I'll bet Santa sent us gold watches. I loved that they looked up the product to see what it actually was and then informed me that I could be doing better by my vagina by using suppositories on/in it.

About five years ago, I received a card sent to me at work. Not signed by anyone. No return address. The address and note inside was printed by computer.
The note inside said something along the lines of >> "I know you're going through a rough time(the summer of one car problem after another). Sometime the littlest thing brightens a day. Someday, if you can, pay it forward to someone else". There was $50.00 bill in it. To this day, I have no idea who sent it.
I have paid it forward, more than once.

Would you please share who your friend ordered the bracelet from/how you learned who sent it? A friend of mine received some jewelry today from this EXACT same address and she has NO idea who sent it and is kind of freaking out about it. If you don't want to share it in public, please message me. I'd love to possibly help my friend figure out where it came from.
