We have a bobcat, a deer family, an otter family, an opossum family, birds aplenty, the occasional gator and we are waiting on a new arrival! Attachments:

Awesome! We have a pair on the lake. They are always flying over our house, and we have seen them fly with a little one in the years' past. Hopefully we will have little ones this year too. It is awesome to see them. I know their call so as soon as I hear them in the back yard, I look up to see them! Truly my favorite bird!

How cool.... we have a bird sanctuary across the street from where we live.. sometimes we will get a random funny looking bird in the backyard. I used to keep birdseed out to watch all the different birds.. BUT then they got all demanding and I was going through more birdseed faster than a gallon of milk for four people. We have about 30-40 Bald Eagles at the sanctuary right now.. SO beautiful

My cat, as most cats, is pretty “attitude-y”. I feel like she goes into the woods and tells the bobcat what to do! 🤣 The bobcat has a cub about every other year. So, sometimes, she has a mate. Pretty wild. We used to have a black bear but I believe it moved on.

What an amazing place you must live (and a great yard!) and I love the photo of the two eagles nesting in the tree! I also really love the story of how everyone gets along I'm very lucky to live where I do-we bought our house 24 years ago and just happened to hit it right with the timing. I live in a very old community (it's over 100 years old) with mature trees that sits on a very small penisula that juts out into the Chesapeake Bay. We don't have eagles but we do have several nesting osprey down near the community beach. They are amazing hunters that eat live fish and build stick nests high up on platforms or in trees. We have a lot of deer in this neighborhood and they sure do love to eat my hostas. They are so beautiful that I don't mind. I'm a night owl so I'm often up late watching TV in the den portion of our finished basement-the other half of the room is my craft room. One night I was watching TV very late and all the lights were off when I heard a noise right outside the sliding glass doors (it's a half basement with doors that go to the backyard) that sounded like a woman was being murdered. I jumped at least 3 feet straight up from the couch with my heart in my throat. I was too scared to look outside but it turned out it was only the sound of a fox outside. It was the first time I'd heard one-they have the strangest, wildest sound. If you've never heard one check out their sound on Google. Since then we hear them sometimes at night or I'll see one scurrying between the backyards when I'm driving home after dark. I also love the sound of the birds in the morning (if I'm up that early ) although I'm glad we don't have gators here. No offence. I think they are hideous and scary looking. I love animals but reptiles I'm not that fond of.

We have eagles on our lake too, I have not seen them, everybody else has though Learn their call. I bet you will see them if you know what they sound like. I would never know they are soaring above/near me if I didn't hear them and know their call. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wr5AQff-SXQ

We live in an area with a lot of wildlife. Our neighbors moved out and a lynx family moved I (under their deck) for a few months while the babies were little. No water animals though. I would love an otter family.

I often imagine the conversation they are having. 😂 as far as everyone getting along, we just respect their space and they respect ours. We have never had a problem. And the otters are the cutest things! Oh, and the ducks! The ducks actually walk up to be fed.

Oh how lovely!!
We back onto greenspace (trees & swampy but nice and private). With it being the dead of winter here we mostly just get blue jays & cardinals. We used to get deer, but the growth of the area chased them off. We get bunnies as well.
I'd not say no to eagles and the like, but you can keep the gators! LOL

People always say that about the poor gators. But, they truly are peaceful if left alone. Of course, nature has its cycle, but we never see that up close and personal with the gators. Unless threatened, they like their privacy just the same. We have had the same otter family and ducks for a long time and the pond has plenty of fish. Now, we have had to intervene with the times that families bring their kids over to throw rocks and sticks at the gators. Which baffles me to no end! But, in 8 years, we have only had to remove one gator due to the kids harassing it and making it agitated. 😡
