My sis wants to parasail and do a beach horseback ride.
Thoughts or recommendations on this or other must-dos?

Ok this is going back 25 years - but we had our honeymoon in Puerto Vallarta (ok Nuevo Vallarta just the other side of Puerto lol).
Our only excursion was a day shopping trip on a bus, and lunch was at this amazing seafood restaurant in the jungle. Their claim to fame was that it was where Predator was filmed.
This place had no electricity, so it was all grilled. We had THE best seafood lunch I think I've ever had.
That's all I've got!

I've got nothing, but wishes for a magnificent time. You deserve it.

Walk along the Malecón...there are a lot of cool sculptures. The Church of our Lady of Guadalupe is very pretty and close to the Malecón. Downtown PV has some decent shopping and many good restaurants. Try to find one with a patio overlooking Banderas Bay...PV has spectacular sunsets.
You can ride horses up to a waterfall at Yelapa. They have parasailing in the bay there as well.
Have a great time! It’s a fun place to go.

We *DO* plan to walk the Malecon. One thing about the parasailing: for tandem (2 people on one line), the weight limit is 300 lbs total. So my sis and I won't be able to do it together.

Rhythm of the night was AMAZING!! Would totally do that again.
Vista Grill, now El Dorado Restaurant(according to google),had amazing views of the city at sunset / night. Food was great. Order a sexy coffee, the best part is watching them make it!

We've stayed in Puerto Vallarta once and Nuevo Vallarta 3 times. Gone to the Maeclon. The market in Bucerias when we were in Nuevo. We've booked some things directly through Vallarta Adventures. We've done Rhythms of the Night and also done the day excursion there, Las Caletas. San Sebastian tour, it was the full day but we had a really good guide who taught us so much sbout Mexico. My aunt and uncle drive down every winter and where there one year when we were and took us to Sayulita and San Pancho, they were nice but I wouldn't spend the time or money to do the tour. We saw a turtle lay eggs on the beach and then some people release baby turtles into the ocean at dusk. Coincidentally on the same day. It was on the Nuevo side.

Many, many years ago we went on a whale watch that was incredibly fun. We saw whales breaching and the views were amazing.

Rhythm of the Night is a must see if you are going to do an excursion. If you are a craft beer drinker, Los Muertes brewery is just off the Malecon is fun.

Las Caletas is a private beach you can only access through Vallarta Adventures. Look into that. It is very touristy, but, a gorgeous beach and a really fun day activity. We have been twice and loved it.
