Is anyone watching "The Affair" Do you believe his side or hers? Who do you think was killed? It is amazing to me that people can meet by chance and cheat so quickly. Actually, it's scary!
I'm the only one I know watching this and would love to hear what others think. Thanks!

I am not sure what to think.
I do like how the different viewpoints have different details. The one that I thought was interesting was the dress the wife was wearing. In Alison's mind, it was long and blue, not one of the 2 choices.

Chris The differences are interesting. There are so many of them, too. Speaking of dress, the first night on the beach, he pictured her in a short white dress. She remembered herself wearing denim shorts. She looks so much prettier and more relaxed in his memories.
I'm having a hard time seeing why she would be attracted to him, though. He does nothing for me. Cole, however, does!!

I'm not sure what I think of it yet either. In the first episode I was really confused as to why the two sets of memories were different.
And in the first episode I was so WTF when the older son was in the bathroom just before they left for vacation....omg!
And the husband is not likable at all. Even less so if he is in fact cheating on his wife.

I also love the two versions and find it so interesting how each sees their relationship and each other. I agree that the husband is just smarmy. I really want to find out how her son died and also what will happen with Noah's daughter and Alison's brother-in-law. I think there will be trouble there also.
My guess is that the dead guy is Alison's husband, Cole. It has to be someone that both of them would want dead.

I just watched the first 2 episodes tonight. I like the two versions, too- interesting to see the differences. I think it's the father-in-law who's dead, but I don't know why Alison would miss him??? And what's up with the fish? Something fishy there...

I like it so far. I feel like I'm reading a book because of the way the two sides are featured. The one thing I don't like is someone cheating on Maura Tierney...I love her! I'm guessing it's the husband too...either that or the father in law.

I love this new show! It's refreshing to watch something more detailed and psychological on tv! I think the two different memories both are pretty accurate. We all rememeber things differently, and this show really lets us see that in a really smart way. I'm thinking maybe the brother in law (the one that was on his way upstairs with the daughter) might have been killed because he saw the affair...? That's my conspiracy theory Clues to the identity: Noah refers to the victim as 'that' fella', doesn't sound like he knew him. Alison says she can't believe he's gone, she obviously knew him. Alison says only summerpeople go down that road, then the detective says 'but (the victim) did?' So the victim must be local? Although, everyone is local except Noah and his kids. Even the FIL and wife of Noah is local. Very intrigued to se the rest!
