I decided take a me day and just craft.
I downloaded a cut file for the first time, from Hip Kit. It says "It's 2020". I made a page with no photos, just as a break between years.

mikklynn Good for you, taking a scrapping day! 😁 Thank you for starting this thread! Today I finished four 12x12 school album layouts that I had previously started. They're rather simple in design, because they're photo heavy. And I learned that I need to buy more 12x12 page protectors, because I only have a few left.

We love "rock the park" show. ( on ABC on Saturday) yesterday they were at glacier np. I had to get my album out and found out it was before we had a digital and were not edited. Dh edited 1 for me and I ordered a 5x7. I'm going to display it in the original layout in my living room. I think I can adapt it even though it's a 4x6. My Yosemite pics are pre digital too. We are hoping to go there again this fall and get some better pics.

Dh is working today so I’m having a scrappy day too! It’s just 8 am here and I’m sitting with the dogs before I head to my room.
I’m planning on making Mother’s Day cards for Cards for Soldiers.

Your valentines are wonderful, @zingermac! Love the cascading hearts! And that pp with a bit of a foiling on it. Good for you, mikklynn and gmcwife1 taking a scrappy day! I hope to join msliz for a bit this morning on Google Hangout. I have an idea for a couple of pages boiling up in my brain, and I want to get it on paper before it gets lost in the cosmos. I also want to play with my Foil Quill Freestyle pens. Picked them up early in January at M's with gc's I had received for Christmas, but had no way to plug in their usb ends anywhere near a scrap surface. On Thursday I received a bd gift from justjac--a little tower with slots to plug all three of them in! So now I have no excuse not to try them out. Maybe on a bd card I need to make today...

I just ordered January photos.
January is usually a slim month, photo-wise, compared to December.

February is going to include a Friday night/all day Sat crop this weekend, and a 3.5 day retreat crop. My plan is to keep working on current photos (October to now) until they are caught up. I will take everything I don't finish to the retreat.
At the retreat I am also taking the end of my Arizona years project and the end of my wedding scrapbook redo project, both started at previous retreats. If I get any of those done I will be so happy.
On February 14th my son and his fiancee are having a very quick paperwork marriage at a wargaming convention where a friend of ours, who is able to marry people, will do it. I, against their desire to have it be any sort of wedding, am bringing a small Valentines cake with some Dungeons and Dragons figures on top. I know when they see it they will be like it. I also bought a cute Valentines Day outfit for DGD and somehow I will be getting some photos that will be scrapped into the start of a wedding album. They plan something that fits a more traditional wedding in August, and I hope that works out for them. But in the meantime they will have this with all the wedding stuff I have been collecting since they got engaged.
So as usual, a busy scrapping month with goals to get a whole lot done. My DS2 is moving again at the end of the month. I still haven't scrapped his cross county trip home from October. I need to have him sit down with me one more time so I know what the photos are that he took. But I will put that off scrapping those I think until I can get to a convention for paper. He'll be gone so he won't miss that they aren't done since he leaves all his scrapbooks at home.

Am I the only one who keeps a little list of embellishments I need as I'm ordering photos to scrap?
For January's photos, my list includes:
-simple trophy outline
-police car/badge/etc

I received my SCT February Favourites Album kit today! Haven't had alot of time to look at it, but according to the 22 page book that comes with it, it is a 6x8 kraft album (SS Sn@p album) with inserts, full page & divided sleeves, with cb dividers. There is also a pretty pack of papers--SS Crafty Girl and AC She's Magic--and some fun extras, including puffy stickers, enamel dots and plastic hearts and February title. A stamp set with alphabets and small planner size icons. The booklet includes 29 page prompts and plans and instructions for each.
I am no good at following instructions in projects like this, and will certainly be tempted to wander off script. Wondering if I should prep all the pages now--lay down the groundwork--so I have enough of each of the papers to follow instructions on the pages I want to do that for? Is that what you do for DD albums? I have never done a traditional one from a kit.
Not sure if I will complete this as a Favourites album, or more a "CURRENTLY", as in what am I driving? what am I watching/reading/crafting? who was here this month? where did I visit? kind of thing... Oh yeah, and that white plastic "February" and hearts may just wind up on my calendar page for the month... Did I tell you I have a hard time with directions?

I find with their kits you'd definitely want to do all your cutting first as they don't tend to give you much to spare. I have trouble following directions too LOL

I ordered Darice page protectors, got them yesterday, and they are being returned today. Absolute garbage, super thin.
I took a chance because of I have Darice dies & embossing folders that were a bargain but great quality. Not these, though.
Later this weekend I'll order C-line or another known-to-me brand.

Today I need to order January photos. I am very impressed! I just commented on another thread, I'm four years behind!
Am I the only one who keeps a little list of embellishments I need as I'm ordering photos to scrap? I do, then I forgot where I put the list. When I'm putting pages together, I do use lots of post it notes! I rarely do one page at a time. It's easier to do all the paper at once, all the stamping at once... I can't keep my stuff out.
I'm going to work on tidying up how I have stamped images organized.

I have made 84 page kits for myself and two friends. I have so much paper that I just sat down with some of my TM paper and started making kits. All of it is precut and has a picture to go with it. I always exchange Christmas gifts with my two scrappy friends and know they will love the ease of having all of the thinking and cutting done for them.

I spent a good part of the weekend sorting embellishments and putting random paper where it goes. Does anyone else pick up more stuff that goes with a collection, then put that odd or end away somewhere else and when you go to use that collection (say Echo Park Fall Market) you think, "Weird. I thought I had more stuff to go with this..." Anyway. I have come to the conclusion that I do not need another item at all. For months. I am overwhelmed by stuff.

Anyway. I have come to the conclusion that I do not need another item at all. For months. I am overwhelmed by stuff. Depending on the category, yes! I like to have an organized space but it doesn't have to be immaculate. I give myself an area for cardstock, embellishments, or whatever and that's all I get.
I have themed Iris Cases I dump things in. When the case gets too full, use it or stop buying. I use cardstock scraps all.the.time. I have them sorted by color in gallon bags. I don't cut them all down to specific sizes because I'd never keep up with that! When they get to be a pain to sort through, I throw some scraps away. Right now, the stamp container has some extra room, so........

Dh still asleep and I need to tell someone my dream. We moved downtown into a huge building that was a former real estate office. It had huge long rows of cabinets for storage. I was trying to figure out how I was going to use it for supplies. Some of it needed repairs I kept finding these cabinets and desks every where.
Before I woke up, I found out we didn't buy the real estate office, Only the apartment upstairs. It was so small I wasn't even sure I was going to have a place to scrap. Really, it was one of the most fun dreams I can remember. I joined a group on fb yesterday that is a craft organization group and there were a lot of huge beautiful craft room pictures. I'm sure that is where that came from.

I went to Ikea this morning and bought the wide Alex drawer unit. I measured and it will just fit in the space I have for it. I can’t wait to put it together and fill it. It will make my new area in my bedroom much better!

Dh still asleep and I need to tell someone my dream. I read this and had to laugh...this weekend when I was sorting embellishment, I dreamed (is the the correct tense?) that DH was helping me sort and he was going SO slow, and so I told him to hurry up and instead he threw away a whole bunch of stuff and was like, "You don't need all these!" I was so upset! The funny thing is he is really very supportive.
