Hi Peas, I’m going on a cruise to Alaska and after the cruise we want to explore a few days before we head back home. What is a “must see” in Alaska if we only have two days? We Disembark the ship at Seward.

In Seward, the Sea Life Center. The drive from Seward to Anchorage is beautiful. Stop at Exit Glacier on the way.

I would drive to anchorage as it’s one of the prettiest drives there is. Lots of hiking if you are into that. Good hikes near cooper landing - also we had amazing food at Kingfisher Roadhouse. Visit Exit Glacier. We did a wildlife cruise out of Seward.
Edited - Russian River Falls hike is a basic hike that let’s you see salmon and possibly bears (depending on timing of course)

We had the most fun on a whale watching tour. It was out of Victoria and not Alaska proper, but it was part of that trip (one of our last ports was Victoria). Much of what we saw when we were in the actual ports of Alaska were for the most part really touristy, IMO, but it was also pouring rain so that didn’t help because we weren’t too willing to explore much as a result.

I'm going on an Alaska cruise in May also! Holland America out of Seattle. This will be my first cruise and my first trip to Alaska.

The Sea Life Center is okay. It's nothing compared to some aquariums I have been to in the states.
Exit Glacier is in Seward. It's worth the hike (walk) in my opinion.
The drive from Seward to Anchorage is my favorite drive in the state. It is absolutely beautiful.
If you drive to Anchorage from Seward you can stop at Portage Glacier.
The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. You will see a lot of Alaskan Wildlife. It's a must see if you like that kind of thing. It's on the Seward Highway near Girdwood.
Speaking of Girdwood...It's a pretty neat town. It is where our largest downhill ski area is located. There is a beautiful hotel (Alyeska Resort), lots of restaurants, and cute shops.
There is a lot of touristy things to do in Anchorage. You are flying home from Anchorage, correct?
Also if you have time I would visit Talkeetna. Its quite a drive from Anchorage, about 2 hours. It is the coolest town and gets a lot of tourist activity in the summer. Remember that show Northern Exposure from years ago? It reminds me of that. Lots of shops, restaurants, coolest little town. Last summer we went ziplining there for my husbands 55 birthday. So much fun. Denali Zipline Tours in case you are interested. (You do have to make a reservation)
Let me know if you have any questions.
ETA...Don't get nervous about driving around the state. It is very simple and many roads are just two lanes, (one each way) The most traffic you will encounter is in Anchorage.

The Kenai boat trip in Seward was everyone’s favorite...it was all day. We saw about 20 whales, lots of wildlife...
