I am a bit obsessive about changing my passwords for all my sites (except 2 peas which kept the same original password since 2003). My problem is I am having trouble trying to remember which password I used where. I try to change my email password every month to six weeks.
Is anyone else like this and has the need to keep changing their PW?

I never change my passwords. Probably should, but I don't. I write down all my passwords in a little spiral-bound address book that I take with me when I leave the house. Guess I worry more about real thieves accessing my computer than I do cyber-thieves.

The thing that irritates me is so many sites now have requirements (one capital letter, one number, etc). So, I should change all my passwords to the new requirements for ease but I haven't and now I have to remember what I used where! Oh the problems we have!

I don't change them up very often, except my Paypal password. I change that every few months.

There are several good password keeper apps available for your phone. I use Password Manager.

I hate that all sites have different requirements when it comes to passwords. I have a rotation that I use - but it gets thrown off when a site has a different requirement. Funny thing - I was at one of my co-workers desk one day and he is logging on to show me something on a work program. The site informs him while he is attempting to log on, that he has to change his password. I tell him how much I hate that and what a pain it is, etc. He says, no big deal, I have 10 passwords I use, I'll just move on to the next one. I thought to myself- well, he sure is protecting himself - very smart. That was, until he lifted up his keyboard and had them all written on a sticker applied to the bottom of his keyboard.

I thought that it was always the most secure with a minimum of 1 cap, 1 symbol and 1 number, but one of my banks said it caused too many problems with people using wrong punctuation for their system? So they no longer allow symbols. Unfortunately it is best/safer to have different passwords at different sites and pray you remember them all.

My dad told me he used my sister's nickname from when we were kids...Jaxzelina. (Spelling may be incorrect). Then he would use capitals, lower case, add years, months, dog's names and anything else he had to whenever he had to change it.
He no longer uses that word so I can share it.

LastPass is the bomb diggity. Desktop and mobile versions are available. Easy to use, can download all your saved site/username/password info if you want. It rules. Realized I didn't answer your questions... LOL I don't regularly change my passwords, should def do it more frequently than I do. If you do choose to use LastPass, it's very easy to change a password.

I use the same 'base' password (first 7 characters) which consist of upper case, lower case, numbers and symbols, and then change the last 2-3 characters to differ by site.
It's a method that works for me and fits MOST password requirements these days.

A friend of. One uses the same base word configuration and then changes the last 3 digits to numbers according to the phone keys. She uses the first three letters of the website name and then figures out what their phone number equivalent would be.

I don't change them that frequently, except for my work-related ones, which require being changed every 30 days. Sites with sensitive information (banks, etc.) get changed every 8 weeks. Other get changed every 6 months, unless there is a reason to change them sooner. I set recurring tasks in my task manager to remind me to make those changes.
I use 1password on all my devices to generate strong passwords and store them securely. I never repeat passwords across sites. Ever.

I don't. I have a horrible time remembering them. We just had to change our password at school the day before we left. Had to be a certain number of characters with at least one capital, one lower case, one number, and one symbol. And then they told us we are going to start having to change them every six months. I had no idea that my third grade vocabulary sheets were so special!

I really need to download an app to help me with this. I have a few standard passwords I use, but then when a site has specific standards it throws me. I will admit to not being very good about using strong passwords or changing them up, but that's because my brain just can't remember them all.

I use to have a lot of different and complex ones all over the place and kept them written in a small notebook. Then I lost the notebook and it was a huge headache. I still have some old word documents on my computer I can't break into. So I went and changed most of them to the same thing. If anyone ever figures it out, it's all going to hell - total access to my life!

I don't change them incredibly often, unless they are attached to money somehow (like paypal, the bank, etc).
I've got a little book that I write them down in, by site. In the book I don't write down the actual password, but code/hints that enable me to remember them (or so that DH can figure them out if he needs to).

I have a rotation that I use and when prompted to change my password I will otherwise they stay the same. At my old job we had to change passwords every 90 days and we could not use any previous passwords. It got to the point where I was using month and year for my password.
