snowsilver I think it’s cute that you think that the only way to get ride of Trump is to elect another republican, the GOP put Party and their own little interest before the country they don’t deserve redemption but annihilation .

Nope. Don't care. And I am sure she doesn't care that I have her on ignore. And that may be the rudest thing I have said on 2peas. Been a pea for 20 years and I have tried to always express myself without calling any pea a name. I'm not a saint, I likely have in my head, lol. (And I am sure someone will correct me on that. ) And ONCE again, I WAS NOT CALLING ANY PEAS NAMES. Please take the time to read my half dozen posts clarifying my statement as well as my apologies for not being clearer before you jump on the beat down wagon. Thx. Not very fun having one of your posts get away from you, is it? When there's a beat down happening, you're usually in the front row. Perhaps being on this side of it will give you some perspective.

This is all so amusing - the leaders of our country have us right where they want us. Fighting amongst each other, and afraid of each other. Meanwhile, both Republicans and Democrats in office are making money hand over fist. Do you all think that the only people in boardrooms and the stock market are Republicans? Yes? I have a bridge to sell you then.
Both parties are broken, and have been for a while. It's just that now the curtain has been parted and we can all see the shit show.

The system stays broken because too many people keep re-electing the same tired cronies who have been in office for decades who do nothing but vote for the special interests that fund their campaigns like big pharma and the NRA (Moscow Mitch, I’m looking at YOU).
Obviously someone keeps voting for these vultures election after election, and probably a lot of the voters are doing so against their best interests. Maybe they just don’t know any better, or maybe they just don’t care. Or maybe they just don’t vote at all, so the votes that are cast are much more weighted than if everyone voted and cast an *informed* vote.
Just look at how many red governorships have flipped to blue in the last two years. It can be done, but we ALL HAVE TO VOTE.
And furthermore, I heartily disagree that both sides are equally bad since only one side has been doing the vast majority of the gerrymandering, attempting to suppress voters and cull voter rolls, and has actively voted against securing our upcoming elections. Guess what, it wasn’t the Democrats.

Yes we all have to vote. Seems a great place to start. And the easiest. Won’t happen because the barriers to voting are excessive and burdensome.
Just because the republicans seem to be impacting voting now, doesn’t mean they’ve got the corner on the market. Does no one remember the Tammany hall political structure?

Ah, the "both sides" trope. It's so good to see it. I've been wondering when it would show up! BOTH SIDES EVERYTHING! THE QUESTION IS HOW MUCH ON EACH SIDE!!! Hardly a trope, but I appreciate your derision. As long as we are all arguing about which side is worse, the real issues will continue to be obfuscated. But continue with the endless, useless, impotent blather and hyperbole you've been partaking in the for the past 3 years. Is it getting you anywhere? NO!!!!! Which side is worse MATTERS!!! FFS. That is PRECISELY my point. And that's why your "both sides" trope is a TROPE. "Nixon: 28 key indictments. There were 72 indictments charging 68 people (58 were convicted), all in the Watergate scandal or related investigations. But arguably only 28 of the 68 were part of, or closely tied to, Nixon’s administration. They included two of Nixon’s attorneys general, two White House counsels, two secretaries of treasury and a number of White House aides. Reagan: 33 people indicted. 18 people indicted (16 convicted) in an investigation of fraud, corruption and influence-peddling within the Department of Housing and Urban Development; 14 people, including Caspar Weinberger and Oliver North, charged (11 convicted) in the Iran-contra scandal, an illicit arms deal with Iran orchestrated by members of the administration; and White House aide Lyn Nofziger was charged (his conviction was overturned) over corruption allegations surrounding Wedtech, a military contractor. Clinton: 2 officials indicted. Agriculture Secretary Mike Espy was charged (and acquitted) over allegations that he accepted improper gifts from businesses and lobbyists. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Henry Cisneros was convicted (and pardoned) of making false statements to law enforcement about hush money payments to his former mistress. Obama: None. Carter: None. It gets me DMs from Peas who say 'thanks' for posting ideas and/or information they hadn't considered before. Is that enough for you? It is for me. ---- PPS - hbr.org/2016/08/7-charts-show-how-political-affiliation-shapes-u-s-boards

Does it ease your conscience to think that? No it's not both sides! No this is not just Politics as usual! No other president has made a mockery of the emoluments clause. But it's so much beyond this as to what this man is doing to our country. And no amount of "both sides" is going to change that. Want to ease your conscience? Stop looking for excuses! Help stop him! Vote Blue!

Here's a fun fact: The top 49, longest serving current members of congress are comprised of 36 democrats and 13 republicans (the list was going to be top 50, which included Elijah Cummings).

You want to dig up Boss Tweed and prosecute him? No one is saying all democrats are angels. No one is saying all Republicans are devils. In this case, I will vote for whomever the Democratic Party puts up as its nominee. Because I think Trump is dangerous to this country, economically, socially, environmentally, and just in general an awful human being.

I do agree that both parties benefit from the infighting amongst the voting populace. The bigger issue for me is getting money out of politics, but even that has to take a back seat to getting Trump out of office, IMO. Trump is an immediate threat to our republic. He is trampling the Constitution daily and making a mockery of it.

We also need to collectively work together to have the Citizens United decision overturned. Our current system allows the highest bidders to shape legislation and legislative agendas.

What I bolded above are the key words here. This is the pressing issue RIGHT NOW which is why we need to act on their asshattery right now. I will agree that those who fail to remember the past are destined to repeat it. Just look at the chart that was posted of how many criminals have been indicted and convicted from each of the most recent administrations and it’s pretty clear what we need to be paying attention to. Seems to me they do have the market pretty well cornered.

Tammany hall hasn’t had real power since the 1920s and 30s. Died out completely by 1960. Y’all have to reach pretty far back for your tales of Democratic corruption. Meanwhile, we have numerous examples from the Republican side in my lifetime. I’m not old enough to remember Tammany Hall as I was born in the middle of the Watergate scandal. My entire life has been punctuated by Republican misdeeds.

I’m baffled as to why anyone would support trump I haven't posted here since what? Last spring? I've rarely even glanced at a thread since then. And this is why. Baffle implies puzzlement. As in you are truly puzzled why someone would have a belief different from yourself. An utter lie. A complete fabrication. An outright falsehood. You do not wonder at all. You and others with your same outlook have decided that anyone who sees things differently from you "deserves annihilation", as noted by someone else in this thread. It's really the oddest thing how over and over and over again articles, tweets and other quotes are linked to this board about what conservatives, Republicans and people who support Trump must think or believe - and I've gotta tell y'all that not once have I read a single one that actually applied to me. Not a one. Clearly, my own voice was not enough to tell you what I believe and why. Y'all know better than I do. Yeah, no. It's a shame. It truly is. I used to really enjoy this board. But not now. Y'all can keep your never-ending derision going for as long as you want. Just stop pretending that you have a single ounce of compassion, empathy, or even curiosity about someone who is different from yourself. Trump is going to win re-election and you're not going to understand why.

Just stop pretending that you have a single ounce of compassion, empathy, or even curiosity about someone who is different from yourself. Trump is going to win re-election and you're not going to understand why. How one reacts to trump’s behavior is nothing more than “seeing things differently” So I guess you see this differently and are ok with it? trump.. ”Fake News @cnn & MSDNC keep talking about “Lt. Col.” Vindman as though I should think only how wonderful he was. Actually, I don’t know him, never spoke to him, or met him (I don’t believe!) but, he was very insubordinate, reported contents of my “perfect” calls incorrectly, &...“ ”was given a horrendous report by his superior, the man he reported to, who publicly stated that Vindman had problems with judgement, adhering to the chain of command and leaking information. In other words, “OUT”. To refresh your memory, Lt. Col Vindman was subpoenaed to testify before Congress, which he did as he saw it his duty to do so. Only an idiot wouldn’t understand the minute the “fix is in” impeachment trial was over Lt Col Vindman would be out because we all know how vindictive trump is. But I didn’t think trump would stoop as low as he did and have not only Lt Col Vindman removed but his twin brother as well and to “perp” walk them off The White House grounds. All because Lt. Col Vindman did his duty by testifying before Congress when ordered. I believe you once said your husband was in the Coast Guard. Imagine your husband being treated like that by his Commendef-in-Chief for the simple act of doing his duty. So I’m guessing that this type of behavior is ok with some, maybe including yourself, and those of us who “sees things differently” and have a huge problem with this behavior by the President of the United States are over reacting and to chill and not question the judgements of anyone who wouldn’t be outraged with the way trump treated Lt. Col. Vindman for just doing his duty. And this is just one example of this type of behavior from trump that he repeats over and over again. That is an awful lot of “seeing things differently “ for bad behavior by the President of the United States.

And you go ahead and cheer for Trump and then tell others they are lacking in compassion, empathy and curiosity "ab out someone who is different from yourself". It's like you are so far into your own hypocrisy that you can't even see it.

Baffle implies puzzlement. As in you are truly puzzled why someone would have a belief different from yourself. But it is baffling. Not just to Democrats, but many Republicans who have a different belief to me are completely baffled by the willingness of many in their party to blindly follow Trump. The Lincoln Project was founded by Republicans, not Democrats. George Conway, Reed Galen, Jennifer Horn, Mike Madrid, Steve Schmidt, Ron Steslow, John Weaver and Rick Wilson founded The Lincoln Project with the goal to defeat Donald Trump and those candidates who have abandoned their constitutional oaths, regardless of party. And ONCE again, I WAS NOT CALLING ANY PEAS NAMES. I’ve had more than my share of beat downs and rudeness and name calling directed at me. Some peas get a pass—and at least are acknowledged positively when they’ve clarified their post (which I did like 6 times) yet it seems not to matter when I do it. I’ve stated multiple times that I was NOT referring to any peas, I was specifically commenting on hop2’s post about the administration. But it’s really nice that you took the time out of your day to take your bat and hit me a few times with it—even after I’ve clarified my post and intention. Happy Valentines Day...go spread the love.

I use the word annihilation, I said that the GOP deserves annilhilation ,not people so don’t use my words out of context please.

Trump is going to win re-election and you're not going to understand why. Nope. Not a lie. I am truly baffled as to why anyone can support trump. It has ZERO to do with difference of belief. It’s not because someone thinks differently than me—or 75% of the population for that matter, but I digress. It has to do with trump. Trump is NOT “a belief”. I’m talking about trump the person NOT the (now gone by the wayside Republican Party) but only trump. The liar. The sexual predator. The misogynistic, gaslighting, deplorable, corrupt thief. He steals. His disgrace to the office of potus. His bullying, name calling. He lies. He has no discernible morals (except for the love of money). He’s a horrible business person. All of those things have been proven over and over again, with multiple instances. He rips off workers and vendors. What the public sees FROM HIS MOUTH (not fake news). EX: He says he’s all for keeping pre-existing conditions, yet at the same time he’s in court working hard to dismantle it—same with social security and Medicare. It blows my mind that KNOWING ALL THOSE THINGS, hearing them daily, knowing that they are true, that anyone would support him. There are other republican candidate’s (or were until the RNC took away the voting rights for many republicans/conservatives by disallowing any other republicans to primary or be on the ballot—effectively taking choice away)—hello fascist authoritarianism— other than trump. And you can stop with your drama. You poor, poor conservatives, the Democrats are so mean. Put yourself in a liberal/Democrat’s shoes with trump as potus—we are bullied, called names, harassed, told blatant lies about us and what we believe from the GOP/republicans/trump ON THE DAILY. I’ve been called a baby killer because I believe in pro-choice. I’ve been blamed for the (upcoming) loss of pre-existing conditions because trump says democrats are fighting to rip it away, when the exact opposite is our reality. I’m made fun of because I’m a liberal —widdle Libs, snowflake tears and all that Jazz.
