What is your favorite drugstore moisturizer for sensitive skin? It is honestly so overwhelming! My skin is flaking off on my nose and cheeks. I have been using a scrub to exfoliate once a week, and have been moisturizing with Cerave Night Moisturizer, but it burns my sensitive skin. I am 55+ and would be interested in natural/cruelty free if possible.
I appreciate any advice you might have, including specific names/types since there are so many variations within a single brand. Thank you!

Stop using an exfoliating scrub. Terrible for sensitive skin and probably exacerbating your problem.
Stay away from anything labeled anti-aging as you may be sensitive to the retinol or whatever else is in there.

I have sensitive skin and I’ve had the best luck with Olay Complete for Sensitive Skin and Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb. I’ve found that it’s best to keep my routine pretty simple, and I don’t do a lot of serums or harsh scrubs.

I never found one that worked with my sensitive skin. Try looking at The Ordinary brand. You can find it online or at some Ulta stores. Reasonably priced skin care. Squalane Oil is one of my favorites.

I can't agree enough with the poster above that advised to stop using exfoliating cleanser immediately. Physical exfoliants are terrible for sensitive skin. If you aren't able to tolerate CeraVe then I would suggest a lotion called Vanicream lite lotion. You can get it on Amazon or at CVS. I also have very sensitive skin and was prone to eczema around the eyes. For a while even CeraVe (which is quite gentle) was irritating my skin terribly. However I can use Vanicream (dermatologist recommended) without issue and its quite emollient without being clogging. I sometimes use Avene Tolerance as well but that's definitely more expensive. Here's a link to the Vanicream

I use 3 drops of The Ordinary's Hyaluronic Acid, then a couple of rounds of spritzing my face with water and letting the hyaluronic acid pull the water into my skin. I top with a few drops of Marula oil (also from The Ordinary) and at night I top with a fragrance-free cream (I'm using cerave right now - sorry that I can't help you there)

Try Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Face Moisturizer Gel-Cream Extra-Dry Skin It's important to get the one that says extra dry skin because that one doesn't have any added fragrances whereas the others do.

I’ve always thought I had sensitive face skin but I have zero reaction to Retin-A, so maybe not? I’ve used Olay moisturizer with SPF for sensitive skin for years. It’s light and not greasy at all.

I use the oil of olay moisturizer in the little red jar, micro some cream ? has no spf. My skin is pretty sensitive. I may apply Aveeno for sensitive skin with a spf in that on top.
Agree with the others, stop the exfoliating, my skin would be raw. I'm 62.

I used Olay products for years with no problem. Then I suddenly developed eczema on my face. After a lot of hit and miss, I started using Toleriane face wash and moisturizers and the eczema went away in a couple of days. It’s like a miracle! Turns out I’ve developed a nickel allergy, and was reacting to nickel in the Olay products. Toleriane is available at CVS and once you buy it, you’ll get coupons for it. Also goes on sale every once in a while. The face wash is so nice and creamy! Just lovely to use!

Here's a video with recommendations on skincare for sensitive skin. linkAlso, I noticed several recommendations for lotions with hyaluronic (sp) acid. It's also an active ingredient in the CeraVe night time lotion so if you are having sensitivity to that there is some risk that you will have problems with other lotions that contain it. Of course hyaluronic acid isn't known to be an irritating ingredient, just something to bear in mind. You mind want to go with the most basic moisturizing with no extras to start, then try moisturizers with more active ingredients to see what might be causing the irritation.

Cerave!!! They have a whole line. It is the only lotion, face wash, cream, vit c retinol, night moisturizing stuff I can use.
But the under eye stuff does have almond.
The above is nut free

I have sensitive skin and I love CeraVe Lotion. Not the cream version, the lotion version. I add more than one layer of the lotion in the winter when my face is drier.

I finally used Working Hands on a few flaking spots on my face that would not go away and it worked. Love that stuff, but usually use it on my hands and feet. Not sure how it would be to use every day though.

I typically use CeraVe but when my skin is being extra sensitive, I reach for Glaxal Base. It´s a bit heavier but I have yet to have a reaction to it and it acts as an excellent barrier cream. As others have said, DO NOT use a physical exfoliator, especially on sensitive skin.
