At the ER. Again. Was here Sunday for a bad allergic reaction and I got a cocktail of meds to stop it.
I have had a reaction to prednisone last year so I got a different one along with other anti reaction meds and pepcid.
Yesterday I had to take more benadryl. Couldn't sleep last night. Was jittery and super tired.
Tonight my heart went crazy and laying down went up to 125. Got dizzy, light headed, headache and tingles.
Have had labs, UA, xrays, ekc and may get an echo (I have VSD non repaired).
Has anyone had tachy events after steroids and anti allergic reaction meds?
I see it can happen.
I will also get work up for hEDS and Dysautonomia like dd as I can do all the crazy bendy tests and have developed a long list of allergies.

I don’t have any experience with the drug cocktail that you received, but I hope they figure it out soon. I had tachycardia when I had a sphenoid sinus infection that ate into my inner ear. It was truly horrible and I can remember not being able to sleep at all. I’m sending my prayers that the doctors figure it out and that it’s an easy fix.
And I’ll commiserate with the list of allergies. We were at a dinner last night and DH was the one who turned in my list of allergies. Except her left some off. I ended up with beef consumeé. Not the most filling meal!

I was going to ask if they have checked for dysautonomia. That is what I thought about when I read your post. Praying you feel better!

Omg this is me! I have my cardiologist follow up today.
I was on steroids for a headache and my legs swelled really bad. Long story my heart rate went crazy high as did my blood pressure, and I’ve never had trouble with them before.
I have been to the Er 3 times and admitted once, and still no answers. I have had a whole bunch of EKG’s, echo, heart monitor and stress test. I also had a ton of bloodwork too.
I find out my stress test results today. I just want answers and to feel better.
I hope you get some answers soon too

Steroids send my heart rate and blood pressure sky high. I've been advised to avoid them from now on.

In my late twenties I developed an allergy to prednisone that sounds like the path you are on. I eventually got to the point where prednisone makes me seriously psychotic.

Pred is nasty stuff. I can get very tachyc on pred. I have POTS and RSDS. They often go hand in hand, because they're part of dysautonomia. Your sympathetic nervous system is on overdrive. I'm really sorry.
