Hanging out in the waiting room at the VA with my uncle. Old guy walks in, signs up on the sign up sheet, he’s got gospel (some nice R&B, jazzy type) music blasting on his phone, on speaker, not headphones. I’m cracking up at the heads turning and scandalized looks. I’m appreciating the break in the monotony of sitting here for an hour and no closer to getting seen. 🎼🎺🙏

I was just in a waiting room too. I love people watching. And the commotion caused when two people are named Karen, and they both get up when Karen is called 😂

I watched a mom wheel a sick toddler around around in a stroller at the waiting room of an urgent care facility. It was 45 minutes at least. The child wanted out of the stroller, and was squirming and crying at times, but the mom was so patient and chill. She said she was afraid the kid was contagious, and didn't want to spread anything. I was just so impressed.
She was SO GOOD at the mothering in that situation. I wanted to tell her I thought so, but wondered if it would be condescending.

I spent many hour in waiting rooms when my Late Husband was ill and I think the man with the blasting music is incredibly rude. I was subjected to many rude things, people playing games without silencing their phones, loud conversations, music, people having conversations and putting the other person on speaker phone. I just wanted a quiet waiting room where I could read a book.

We don't normally have to wait too long at our local VA here. They DO have religious music playing all the time there though. Ugh. There's also a religious/Christian music station playing at our local Nissan dealership, which I loathe. It was NEVER like that in the past. It offends me even though I'm a Christian. How dare they assume that the majority of people are okay listening to overtly religious music??? BLeh!!!!!!!!!

That’s way better than listening to a phone conversation. The last 2 times I’ve been in a waiting rooms they have had Fox News on. Ugh. One lady asked them to change the channel. They said they couldn’t, so asked for the sound to be turned off, that they did.

Once, when I was waiting for my daughter at the orthodontist, a man was having a conversation on his phone that was clearly sensitive. He loudly announced his full name, birthdate, address and social security number for all of us in the waiting room to hear. And people wonder how identity thieves get their info.

My 2.5yr old did NOT want to be in his stroller, but didn't want to potentially infect others, or have DS pick up something worse. Trust me, she would have appreciated it At least I would have, instead of getting the looks because Jack was grumpy about being in the stroller AND not feeling well.

It's so rude and entitled to think EVERYONE in the waiting room wants to hear what you are listening to, no matter the genre of the music.

This just happened to me at the waiting room of the medical center. The guy had 80's rock playing from his phone and everyone turned and looked. Then he sat next to ME and asked me if it was too loud. I said I was ok, I was going to my appointment soon. But then the music got worse and louder, so I moved. He saw me move and lowered the music but didn't turn it off. What if all of us in the waiting room had music playing?
