I got cases of TP to use for samples for my buyers and my personal use. I had a backlog of course, and then I had that awful yellow that I had to PU that was not selling. We didn't pay for any TP from 1980 until about 1998. It broke my heart when I had to start paying for that product again.

I bought colored toilet paper as long as it was available. I just came across the last roll of a beige color when cleaning out a closet. My now adult children do not remember colored toilet paper or Kleenex.

My grandmother's favorite color was pink. Her bathroom was remolded in the fifties. She had a pink toilet seat, a pink bathtub, and a pink sink. The walls and floors were covered w/ pink tiles. Wanna guess what color her toilet paper was? LOL. My mom bought a 1950’s house with an original vintage all pink bathroom just like that! All the fixtures, tile and walls were pink. The curtains were pink. Pepto Bismol pink. In fact, every single room in that house had pink in it somewhere! When my brother bought it from her, his first job was to un-pink most of the main living areas. That bathroom stayed pink for a while, but eventually he gutted it too and remodeled the whole thing.

Yes! Mom usually had yellow or green, while I much preferred the blue. It's been gone for years, so imagine my surprise when I moved to Paris and saw all the brightly colored Renova Toilet Paper! I thought it would have been great to be able to buy school colors to use when t.p-ing houses in high school! Wow these colors are beautiful and vibrant. I make a paper clay with toilet paper and would love to try some of these colors! As to using them for their intended purpose, I cannot imagine using black toilet paper. Ugh. Also how would you know if you had a health issue and were spotting blood on black paper?

My babysitter had the blue toilet paper. My mother wouldn’t use it, she thought paper with dye might not be the best choice when wiping. But bleached white is. I vaguely remember the colours. Ine of my grandma's had a coloured roll under ine of those Barbies that you put a TP roll to fill our her skirt, for years after. I can only sort of remember and can't rmember which grandma. Was absolutely no rhyme or reason to why she focused on that aspect of it, but she did... and sadly we just had the plain white.
The other thing is we had a septic system, so 1 ply was what we used. That in fact also ruined the thick toilet paper experience for me...I still have to use Scott 1ply and I nowhave town sewer. They messed me all up...

I remember the colours from the early 80s when we first moved here - my mum never bought it though (I think the white was less expensive). There was a box of blue Kleenex in her house when we were cleaning it out in January - I wonder how old it was?
and @compeateroperator - yup - Scott 1-ply here also (well, usually the Aldi knockoff).
But mostly I remember the loo roll in the schools overseas - it was similar to wax paper...dreadful stuff

Yes! It was during the time that commercials referred to "the bathroom bowl" instead of daring to utter the word "toilet". My mom always bought blue (or white), no other colors.

Yes, my parents sold coloured toilet rolls in their pharmacy, so we used to get any damaged packs for our use - usually peach. I remember buying blue, and yellow for our 2 bathrooms.
Do you remember those boxes of tissues that were rainbow coloured? Each box had alternating blue, mint green, yellow, peach and pink tissues. I loved those as a child.

I don’t remember the printed toilet paper but I would buy it now! White is boring 😊
I remember making flowers with tissues in first grade. We had a play of Little Boy Blue and used the flowers to decorate in some way.

I sure do! But more importantly, tissues were also available in colours and that was what we used to make those god-awful tissue carnation flowers for the wedding vehicles and reception décor Oh I loved to make the Kleenex carnation flowers. Loved it. Thanks for the memories. 🌸

I accidentally bought peach coloured paper not so long ago - it looked very odd to me in my bathroom 😁

We used to make paper flowers from the Scott tissue 1 ply. They were used a lot for draping cars for weddings in the 70s southern California.

She would have pink and blue toilet paper most often but I seem to recall the occasional pastel green too.

My grandmother had a beach house that we went to all the time it had 3 bathrooms: pink, yellow and blue.
EVERYTHING in the blue bathroom was blue: the tile, the toilet, the towels, the toilet paper, the bath mat, the sink....etc. and same goes for the pink and yellow bathrooms - it was awesome!!

My grandma had pink toilet paper. It went right along with her padded toilet seat (I call them mushroom seats), anf the crochet doll extra roll cover thing. And I swear it had a baby powder scent.

My neighbor had the pastel rolls. I very vividly remember the half bath just off their kitchen with the wood paneling and faint cigarette stench and pastel TP.
My house only had white,

I don’t remember this at all. If it was more expensive, it makes sense that my family (and friends in the neighborhood) didn’t have it. But I’m really surprised my grandparents didn’t have it either. Because she went all in with the matching toilet covers, rugs, and padded seats

The colors or designed was priced the same as the white in the same brand. The premium toilet paper was all priced the same. (2 ply soft paper)

Oh I sure do! Pastel blue to match the blue of my parent's bathroom. It matched the shag carpet ( ) in that bathroom. My mom would complain that they never made light green for the main bathroom to to match the avocado green tub, sinks toilet and wall paper on the ceiling. Can't have it all I guess.

When my sister was pregnant, she wanted to name my niece Aurora Bleu. I said please don't, I'll always think of her as toilet paper. Funny memory

Yes! And I also remember scented toilet paper. They used it at my (at the time) hairdresser’s salon and a customer had a horrible allergic reaction to it.

I was wondering that the whole time I'm reading this thread. I remember colored tp but I was unsure if I just imagined scented too!
