So I have had my Selphy less than a year and used it maybe 5-6x to print no more than 4pics at a time out. I print straight from my memory card. Well a few days ago I go to use it and it keeps saying "cassette inserted incorrectly" then it will say "paper jammed" or "paper not the correct size" all of this isn't the case. Everything was correct. After some googling it seemed it could be a sensor issue. So I call Canon. The man was very short with me and just said "stick it in a box and ship it to this address ..." I'm like "ok well is this fixable?" He was like "I don't know" then I asked if they would be sending me a box he said no I need to pay to ship it. Basically this whole convo was me having to pull info out of him. Like I asked if I needed to print out a form with my issues I'm having with it to enclose with the Selphy...he was like "no we don't have anything like that" So I'm then I asked if I should write a letter stating my issues ...he said "if you want". lol like the whole convo was so weird. I'm confused how they will know what is wrong with it without some type of info attached.
So basically my question for y'all is ...if you sent yours back did they fix it? Also how long? Because the man said at first 10 days then later said it could be months. Did they contact you in any way while they had it in service? Because if they send it back I'd like to be able to track it to make sure I get it back.
Thanks

I had great customer service from Canon when my Selphy had a power issue. I only dealt with them via email. I was told to print the form I submitted online and received a copy of via email, to include with the printer. Yes, you have to pay shipping. I was emailed the morning they received the printer; was told it would be something like weeks (I don't remember if it was 2-6 weeks, or 4-6 weeks or what) to try to fix. That afternoon I received an email saying they were shipping me a new printer. I had my new printer about a week after I sent my broken one out. Be sure not to include the ink cartridge or any paper with your printer!! I stupidly forgot to take the ink cartridge out of mine and didn't receive it back.

Thanks ashley. The man wasn't rude but the whole convo was so weird lol it's hard to explain. It was like he wasn't giving me no info whatsoever then when I asked him things he was giving me very unclear answers. I looked on their site for some kind of form but none was listed in my search so I guess I'll kiss stick a note in there. He never said anything about them sending me a new one just said he didn't know if they could fix it. Thanks for the reminder about ink! I would have left that one in it if you hadn't reminded me!!

I've had to deal with Canon CS twice and both times had EXCELLENT experiences. I would try calling again and ask for a supervisor to see if you get a better result, especially if the printer is still under warranty. When I sent a camera in recently, they emailed a form to me to fill out which I included with the camera. Since my camera was still under warranty, they sent me a UPS label to send it in and they paid the shipping both ways.

I mean I just want to make sure this is mailed correctly. Maybe I just got someone who was new or something.
