Do you have a picture associated with your work email? We can add a picture to our account if we want, I have not. I am surprised at some of the pictures I see, nothing inappropriate, just not for a professional/business email. One has her wedding photo on, one a selfie in the car, one at a local sporting event. Our agency is pretty casual, but we still need to look professional is our communication within our agency and especially outside of it.

I have a photo on my work email. It is a personal photo but just of my face. I have seen wedding photos and other personal photos which don't bother me (as long as they aren't drunk party photos) but I have also seen ones where they have a photo of their dog or they are crazy about penguins so they have a picture of penguins...those I don't find professional. We aren't a small company either...6500 employees across the country...

We can have photos (email/Microsoft products), but it has to be you, nothing odd, or too unprofessional, no animals, cartoons, etc. The purpose is because our organization is huge and the the thought is if you had a meeting with someone and you’ve never met, you’d recognize them instead of wandering about looking at people’s work badges.

I think our culture around a lot of that has changed. People want to bring their “whole selves” to work and not be defined by their stodgy business headshot. I don’t care. When I moved to tech from finance, I stopped using my traditional business headshot. The only person in our company who uses a traditional headshot is our general counsel. What I use now is much more casual and feels more like me. There’s nothing inappropriate about it, it’s just more relaxed. Times are changing in a lot of industries.

There are some of just head shots, not posed like yearbook photo head shots, those I am ok with, but there are a few that I just feel are too casual, again nothing inappropriate.

I used my business headshot for a while, but recently switched to a photo of DS and I that I love. Very few people have their professional photo any longer, it is something more casual/personal without being inappropriate. We are a very large national company as well.

I work for the state and I’ve never seen anyone have a picture connected to their email. I haven’t noticed a place where you would even add that. We use outlook. We also have skype for business and if I recall, I have seen a way to add a pic to that but no one does.

We all had professional headshots done and were instructed to use them. Quite a few people substituted other photos. Some I thought were pretty unprofessional. We were a Fortune 500 company.

We do have the option, I do not use the option. The majority of the people use their badge photo...although for a lot of people those aren’t current. My badge photo is about 18 years old. Some use other pictures...headshots with sunglasses, with their dog, etc. We are an okay size health network. I am in IT so not sure if our group is consistent with the rest of the organization, or if they basically use their badge picture? My correspondence is typically within IT. Truthfully I don’t pay a ton of attention to them most of the time. ETA - I am not sure if there is guidelines that you have to adhere to, I’ve never looked into it. We do have an on call list for only IT that also displays a picture and people use all kinds of photos for that, like characters or other odd things.

I work for a fire department. I am uncomfortable with my headshot being on there. I put a picture of a fireman holding a cat he rescued from a burning building. Work related, not offensive or cartoony.

I work for a large company with offices all over the world, and we do use our pictures. I suspect that has to do more with having never met most of the people were communicating with. It’s more personal sometimes if you can put a name with the face.

My company used our badge photos for the longest time, but since we've switched to O365, we can use a pic of our choice. Most people just use casual pics that are still professional. I use the same pic that I use on LinkedIn.

I work for a large company - I don’t have a picture but a lot of people do - everything from a nice photo of themselves, to a picture of their dog.

We have photos attached to our emails and for the most part they are head shots. I did hire a new CSR who used a bathroom selfie...I was mortified that she thought that was appropriate. She didn't last long.

I work for a very large, national company and we can use a photo, but it must be of you. I don’t think people outside the company can see them. One guy is wearing a ball cap in his, which you can’t wear in the office. But it’s a good picture and I don’t see anything wrong with it. Most people just use their badge photo.

We can but I choose not to. Like the OP the photos I do see are all of a personal nature. There's baby pics, vacation pics, some weddings and pets. I think it's a little odd but there's no harm in it.
