Well, that was a painful loss! It was tough to see their relievers get rocked like that. I hope they bounce back tonight!

I made a quick trip to KC (16 hour car ride) to watch the game with my family. Even though we lost, this city is ROCKING. Everywhere you go people are wearing blue and saiyng "Let's go Royals" to every person you encounter. We stopped at a fountain for family pictures with my siblings... and most of us are 40 or older. And we weren't the only ones at this fountain in blue, specifically to take pictures. The city is just energized. The place we watched the game at was electric, with the patrons busting out in the "Let's Go Royals" chant. Amazing.
God, I love this city!

The up side to last night's loss is that now they'll be playing back in KC. I'm going to see if I can get tickets!

My condolences to the Cardinals' family, fans and players on the sad loss of their player, outfielder Oscar Taveras, and his girlfriend who died in a car accident.

Not to rain on the Giants fans parade - they have played amazingly well - but wouldn't it be more appropriate to celebrate on a Giants thread, not a thread started by a Royals fan?

Really? You didn't get that this was a thread started by a Royals fan? and therefore, though the Giants have played EXCEPTIONALLY well, it would be more appropriate to celebrate on a Giants thread?
Anyone else feel like Fox sports has been leaning toward the Giants? It just feels like to me, they're comments have been along the lines of this is what should be happening, as opposed to this is what's actually happening. I'm not a baseball fan, but as resident of KC, have been excited to see how electric the city has become.

Joe Buck has been completely biased AGAINST the Giants...heck, Hunter Pence scored on an amazing hit Saturday night and all we heard about for the next 2 innings was how awesome Dyson's stop in the outfield was. Maybe since you're not a baseball fan, you wouldn't know that very few announcers ever give the Giants credit for anything. Now that he's pitched 6 games in the WS, and now a no-hitter in the WS, they have all kinds of love or MadBum, but prior to this it's been all Kershaw or any other pitcher not on the Giants team.

Then it's my ignorance about the game and the announcers coloring my opinion. As we are regularly referred to as a "farm team" and I have seen repeatedly heard what are you (meaning the Royals) even doing playing in the WS I've become pretty sensitive to some of the commentary. Apparently, you all are in the same boat.

My DH won't listen to the Fox commentators because of their bias towards the Royals. Don't know where you've gotten the idea that anyone thought the Royals weren't worthy of playing in the series. The teams are pretty evenly matched. But if it's upsetting the Peas who are Royals fans, this will be my last post on this thread.

The only thing upsetting to me is the Royals loss the last 2 very well played on both sides games. The point made earlier, was respectfully asking those of you who are celebrating the Giants win to do so elsewhere as this was intended as a thread to recognize the Royals. at least that's how I took the OP.
As I am a self-admitted non-baseball fan, I'll back away slowly as clearly I made an incorrect judgement about the announcers last night. And no, I haven't' seen anything posted here about the Royals not deserving their slot, that's coming from other sources.

Funny how the perception of the announcer's bias depends on which team you like. I thought Joe Buck seems much more enthusiastic whenever the Giants did something great, compared to the Royals. I absolutely HATE him when he announces Angels games (my team).

Seriously? Joe Buck can't stand the Giants, never has and never will. Remember he called them misfits a few years back? You can't tell my the tone of his voice ? I'll return to the Giants thread now...

OP jumping in... yes I am a Royals fan. Clearly. But I didn't mean for this to be a Royals thread. The Giants have played well, I hope we can turn it around when we get back to KC.
I think both teams being Wild Cards have gotten some grief, I read an article recently that stated neither team deserved to be in the World Series.
KC going 29 years without a playoff appearance really gets a LOT of grief. The Giants have been to the playoffs and to the World Series... didn't they win a few years ago?
It does seem KC is getting a lot of support, but totally as the underdog!

wow, I've been re-posted in case I pull a hair flip and delete the original post. That never happened (to me at least) on the old board. OP, clearly I took your intent incorrectly, and have apparently formed an opinion that was incorrect with regard to the media.

It does seem KC is getting a lot of support, but totally as the underdog! Thanks for being gracious about your thread. From what I can see, pretty much the entire country is pulling for the Royals except of course the Giants' fans. That's to be expected, this is our 3rd World Series run in 5 years. Before that, we went 52 years without a WS win! I think it's awesome that two wild card teams made it to the Series. However, I really disagree with the Royals being the underdog, seems to me the entire Fox team picked y'all to win it all. Now that MadBum has pitched two great games, they are giving us props. The problem is, he won't start the next two games so it's anyone's to win. Good luck to both teams and their fans. I've got great respect for both organizations. (And I can't say that for some of the other teams in the league.)
