....due to issues in China with the Coronavius? It was posted on Instagram that because of production lines shutting down they wont have a kit for March.
I wonder what other kits will have issues this month? SC is known for cutting it close with product arrival before kits ship. Will this effect them as well?

I know Hip Kits for February wasn’t all in and had thought it would be by now. I haven’t gotten mine and not expecting it for quite some time.

Nah, they’ll just grab something from their warehouse of requirement to replace what doesn’t come in on time 😉

Tonic Studios is delaying their kit until May. They’re not sure everything will be in even for an April. As an apology for the two month delay, they will be sending a Tonic Craft apron with the kit when it ships.

Good for those companies that manufacture in the US. I know Lawn Fawn products are made in the US. Anyone know of others?

Nah, they’ll just grab something from their warehouse of requirement to replace what doesn’t come in on time 😉 warehouse of requirement - that’s perfect! I hadn’t heard about the kit clubs. I heard from a friend who is a Coast Guard employee that some (?) longshoremen are refusing to unpack cargo from China (which would be almost all of the cargo arriving in the Port of Seattle) and on the news they said that ships were arriving with half the normal cargo. What a mess. It will start to highlight just how much global supply chains rely on China. Hopefully (for people, not so much for the consumer goods) this virus snuffs itself out and/or is brought under control soon.

Hopefully (for people, not so much for the consumer goods) this virus snuffs itself out and/or is brought under control soon. Gotta give you a double thumbs up for your positivism but oh my, no, it is about to propagate internationally. We're nowhere near having this under control. It's going to be a major mess for the many countries unprepared for such an emergency. The best we can hope for now is transparency from the other epicentres like Italy in Europe right now. But it's looking bad for some places including Africa and several spots in the Middle-East. Those contamination numbers from Iran are nowhere near reality considering the death toll they're announcing. Buckle up, everyone. I don't care much about scrapbook kit clubs and/or companies delaying releases and kits although it stinks for the independent brands. We're on the brink of a pandemic of a virus (per the WHO, not the cuckoo hysteria media) we know far too little about, have zero herd immunity against, with scientifics fearing possible mutations. And I'm not giving away to panic. I've just been following the developing story since the WHO announced the discovery on January 9th if my memory-keeping is correct ("How a scrapbooking project has helped me keep track of a new virus" ). The petrol industry has taken big hit upon big hit since mid-January and is the most severely affected so far. I'm sure the crafts industry will do just fine and we'll rush to get the Chinese imports for our favourite new collections. People look at this from their own perspective but forget that sending all the Chinese back to work (for us) would put them at great risk be it manufacturing stuff, packing products, loading cargo ships, etc. I'm grateful so many have been obeying the harsh confinement rules so far (and accepting the financial toll it has taken on their earnings). The French wouldn't have put up with this, lemme tell you (and we've just officially been told to start preparing for possible confinement zones, oy vey, we're gonna come for Marie-Antoinette's head again).

Having kits & products be delayed is a minor inconvenience for consumers. I do worry about independent companies but they are just going to have to figure it out.
Actually, I expect a poor response & complete lack of transparency from the US right now. This couldn’t happen at a worse time socially or politically. Our nation is NOT prepared for something like this.
And since this is the scrapping board I’m not going to expand on my opinion on this topic because I’m sure it won’t be a popular one.

Eh, I'm about to promote Lucien Greaves coming to speak in Provo, UT in the BH thread... Don't worry about popularity! (mind you, yes, we do avoid 100% political discussions on this side of the board although some of it steeps in and leaves an imprint, especially in the more controversial scrappy topics)

I have friends that work for a company that does manufacture in the U.S., but some of the components come from overseas....the trickle down effect...its very scary right now.

Let’s just say I expect when it gets here the US will be *the* problem not other countries, it will be the US lack of cooperation & transparency that will be an issue. 1 ‘we’ are a bunch of know it all’s, even when ‘we’ don’t know ‘we’ think we know best. From the government on down to the citizens who ‘knows best’ what they should/can do. 2 what has been transparent & truthful from the US lately? 3 lack of belief in facts & science combined with me me me culture I do not expect voluntary cooperation from a significant portion of our citizenry even if our government does get it right. And I’ll stop there before it gets full on political

Let’s just say I expect when it gets here the US will be *the* problem not other countries, it will be the US lack of cooperation & transparency that will be an issue. Pretty sure you have several people in here who feel just like you. From the US and particularly those in power, right now, I fear more the politicising of the subject (like it is already happening) to feed populism and the next election rather than lack of transparency regarding the contamination levels. For now, anyway. North America has a pretty central yet "isolated enough" position and it has shown in the recent past. It is currently still favouring Canada and the USA for the spread of the virus. Fingers crossed for you all. We're currently staring at the sttart of the European spread of the virus and it's uncomfortable, especially with Italy unable to find their patient zero so far. The situation's evolving by the hour. The French government just announced everyone asked to stay home because of the virus will be paid their full wages (thank you, social security pot) so you know shit's about to hit the fan.

They wouldn’t have this issue if they worked and ordered stock more than one month in advance.
Chinese New Year means the factories in China halt production for about four weeks in late Jan early Feb so the workers can go home and celebrate with their families. The coronavirus has meant that those factories have stayed closed longer than usual.
Just surprises me that they don’t order stock further in advance to avoid situations like this. That’s a month that they will have to go without any revenue now.

I did see where they would be having a sale (about time) so that will bring in inventory but it kinda sucks for subscribers who *count* on her kit monthly.

I just subscribed and February was my first kit. I was disappointed when I received the email about the March kit. I ended up spending the money at another online store.
