Now that Cricuit has discontinued supporting it's design space for older Cricuts (I have an expression) what do you use to weld words together? I used the design space primarily for welding words or making word art and really miss that function, but not enough to buy a new machine! When I called and spoke to Cricuit they told me the only thing I could do was purchase a new machine and get rid of what I have.
So, are there other options out there that I am missing?

I use Sure Cuts a Lot 2. It's an older version. I don't think 3 is compatible with Cricut machines, and I don't know if you can still find SCAL2.

I still use design studio. It sucks that I have it on a desktop and not a laptop, so I can't really take it with me unless I take my whole computer (which I have done for a 3 day crop long ago) but I don't know what the parameters are for what type of computer you need to use it with. I know I have an older computer, so I don't know that it will work with a newer one. Also, depending on what cartridges you have, they stopped supporting or adding any new cartridges after I certain time. That is also when I stopped buying cartridges. I have about 45 or so, that is totally enough for me. If you can find the program to buy (might have to be ebay, I don't know) I can ask DH what kind of operating system you need for it to run before you buy it.
Edited to add, I am not giving up my expression until it gives up on me, lol.

I don't know if you can still find SCAL2. There are no legitimate copies of SCAL2 for sale. That ended back in 2011, I think, with the lawsuit. What you see for sale are bootleg copies of a very old software. It might work, it might not. There would be no Windows 10 support. So just know that if you do purchase it, and it doesn't work - there is no recourse from Sure Cuts A Lot.

I already have it. I bought it a long time ago. I haven't seen it available anywhere. I still have it too, from way back I don't use it anymore, since I use Silhouette... But I do see it for sale on eBay and Etsy from time to time... just a heads up if anyone was thinking of buying it. Not sure how well it works with some of the newer computers, and any of those that are for sale now are for sure bootleg copies.
