This challenge is so you have bragging rights over cleaning up after your craft session, or finally scrubbing that floor that hasn't been touched in a month (or more if you're me), organizing a supply or your whole room, sorting or editing photos, organizing page kits, basically anything that’s not actually crafting that needs to get finished in the craft room. Note for teams: If you’re on the team challenge you can claim 10 point for each hour spent. Your time doesn’t have to be consecutive. You can claim a bonus point for before and after photos. grammadee

Sorry for the late posting. Obviously, I've been out of it. oops.
I just moved my computer back into my craft room this morning. DH is working from home this week. I'm so thankful that I purchased that rolling computer desk earlier this year.
I also had to 9cube units that I place back to back and then put a top on that I've used as a standing craft desk. I usually have it placed in the center of the room. It just takes up so much floor space. I've decided that this month I'm going to move the units against a wall and stack them on top of each other to free up that floor space. I still have my make shift counter height unit against the wall to stand at. I am a little worried that facing a wall will get to me. I might have to have DD make some paintings to hang all along that space.

Thanks LisaDV - this was my favourite thread last month (all my points were earnt here) and it's shaping up to be very useful again this month. Good job moving around your room to make it work for you - I'm still feeling a bit closed in - still waiting for DH to have a chance to move the futon out of here - he's been working weekends lately) Sunday (1st) - 2 hrs downloading photos from phone and doing photo orders Monday (2nd) - 2 hrs pulling photos off camera cards and 1 hr pulling photos out of frames (still working on that) Tuesday (3rd) - 2 hrs so far cleaning up my hard drive - still working on that but I've freed up almost 5GB of space

and another hour - taking photos out of frames and - the hard part - sorting school photos (and a handful of other 8x10s) into chronological order and figuring out what grade/year they were from.
PSA -LABEL your kids school portraits...20 years later 1st and 2nd grade look awfully similar, lol.

I am amazed at your dedication, Linda, scanning and organizing all those photos and memoribilia, then having to go through your hard drive and clear some space. So glad you got to play this last week! And you were a scrapping ninja! Time for me to get a bit more organized in here... After the crop weekend I have stuff... EVERYWHERE. And yesterday I picked up a couple of new collections, some new hockey pp I had never seen before, and a bunch of card stock to replenish my dwindling colours, so I need to be able to put that away. To do that, it would be handy if I could actually OPEN drawers and doors without moving a stack of scrap crap piled in front of them... I tell ya: this room is a disaster zone! Don't get me wrong, I would much RATHER be playing with my new goodies and the pic's I printed yesterday (Hey, I have GOALIE pp and a new goalie photo...) but today I am spending cleaning this room. At least, thanks to you, LisaDV, I get points for this! Wish me luck!

I’m impressed. and yeah, we could all do ourselves and the people who come after us a favor by scrawling the year and basic details on the back of every photo, or at least the important ones. I feel like I should do it with all the photos I have on the walls, even though they’re not originals - if someone was going through my house after I’m gone they might want to know who I put in the pictures frames of the “ancestor wall.” keep up the good work!

I spent a little time trying to clear photos off my phone yesterday. It’s full. 12,000 photos. Google Photos has them all (as well as them being saved and backed up in other places too) but the “clear space on your device utility apparently doesn’t work when you have 12,000 photos to delete. Or maybe when your phone is almost completely full. So I started with the Instagram album which had 2000+ photos on it and deleted those, and maybe the next time I have the guts to press the clear space button it will actually work. Otherwise I’ll have to delete in batches, which means seeing the photos I’m deleting, which always gives me more anxiety. (even though I know I still have all the photos!)

Yesterday I spent about 3 hours going through my photo library and editing and ordering photos. Do I get points for organization and the actual printing of photos?

It gives me anxiety to delete all at once. I delete in batches after confirming that I have them on my computer. Google photo should get them all as well, but I just don't trust it to do them all the time. I've had glitches before. Once I check them on my computer, I copy them to another external hard drive and then I'm okay to delete. Although I do have to admit not doing the delete part since last October/November...

My photos were backed up when I purchased this new computer in January. I didn't do much before the change over, so basically the tech guy just got a snapshot of the old hard drive and copied onto the new one and onto an external drive. The new computer has a ton more storage than the old one, so we're good . But most of my photos are either on my camera cards or on my phone. I have a usb to save my iphone photos, but have never connected it. Claiming ten hours of cleaning my scraproom this week, reorganizing photos and supplies. Sadly, my room and my computer hard drive are kind of "managed" the same: use and then drop where it lies and move on... I don't like cleaning IRL, but cleaning up the computer is stressful for me.

On the iPhone deleting the photos in batches literally means clicking on every one of 10000 photo thumbnails! Or at least, it shouldn’t, but I can’t get my finger to do the drag select thing that some people manage to use. I know they’re all backed up and most of them aren’t important anyway, so being able to delete them without clicking on every single one would be nice... I love my iPhone but sometimes it’s dumb!

grammadee - my new computer should be here soon - it was due yesterday but got delayed. I have everything saved to an external drive so should be able to transfer it from there to the new one but...I think it'll still be quite the project

I finally moved those 9-cube units and made one wall unit stacking them on top of each other. It would have been done sooner but I was sick earlier this week and well getting sick right now just adds extra stress to being sick. All better though!! Yay! House paper work is also in my craft room and I still need to gather all the documents for DH to send the taxes off. Thus my starting to clean today.

This will be me when I start the paper work. I got sidetracked on cooking. I finally took off my desk top so I could move the base out from the wall a bit more today. Hopefully, I'll start putting things back together tomorrow.
