DD19 was home last week on Spring break - she'll be home the next two weeks doing university online
DD13 is on spring this coming week and the state extended it a second week.
DH isn't working from home yet but I suspect he will be after Monday
I did grocery shopping last night and plan to stay at home (except for a dentist appt mid-week) for the time being.

I’m guessing you haven’t had too many cases there yet? Every school is Washington state is closed until late April, almost every library already closed, our local system will close Wednesday. All gatherings over 250 people cancelled or postponed. We just had to call our trip home off because NZ is requiring all visitors to the country to self-isolate in their accommodations for 2 weeks. We were going for 2 weeks, supposed to leave Tuesday. I don’t blame them, it’s a good decision, but it sucks. If we get most of our airfare, hotel, etc money back we might be able to plan a trip for next spring to see my family, but if not, we’ll probably just pretend this was the worst trip home ever and stick to our every-other-year schedule for our next visit - March 2022... anyway, silver lining - I have 2 extra weeks to earn ALL THE POINTS! Craft therapy!

joblackford - no cases in my county (at least not officially) - Florida has about 70 official cases but I think it's pretty obvious that only testing those with travel connections or who are sick enough to be admitted to the hospital is keeping those numbers way down. I mean ORLANDO just reported their first case yesterday - which seems unlikely at best. I'm sorry about your trip - but yes, best not to travel at the moment. It sucks though and is disappointing.

Oh dear. Stay safe! We've been viewed as the "epicenter" of the US spread but I think the truth is that our local doctors were paying attention to the Chinese situation and when a couple of fragile elderly patients came down with dreadful pneumonias they sent samples for testing as soon as the CDC guidelines were changed to allow it. It had already spread through the community by then. I have tons of material to document in place of the wonderful trip pictures I was going to put into my scrapbook. Sigh... Going to try to focus on all the opportunities I have to be creative now. But I'm also going to stamp a little monster holding a sign that says "this sucks" - a sentiment I haven't used before.

How is everyone doing? Hanging in there? Is everyone going into lockdown? Hope that means more crafty time, not less. We're taking it all one day at a time. I social distance/isolate most of the time anyway. As an introvert, I've been in training for this my whole life! I've been able to do a little bit more crafting the last couple of days. Same here! Total introvert that's kinda looking forward to being forced in for the time being lol

My job has been crazy busy again this week and I've spent the weekend out stocking up. I should be good for about 3 weeks. And I'm hoping that's going to translate to crafty time. I have done zero scrapbooking this month. I have putzed around organizing some things and see how overflowing my stash it. I could craft for a good long time.
Our City Mayor declared a state of emergency Thursday even though we have no confirmed cases (yet) in our county. But they are cancelling the large events and there are not so many people out this weekend. Stay safe everyone!

joblackford I’m so sorry your trip is going to be cancelled. Like you said it’s for the best but still such a bummer for your family here and there! I’m an introvert too so I’ve been saying the same thing- I’ve been preparing for this all my life. Where we are at schools, libraries and museums are shut down. For my kids and I not much has changed since we already homeschool. We will miss going out to see friends and on our day trips- really we miss the library the most! Still we are willing to stay home to hopefully flatten the curve! I was hoping to get some crafting done but still not up to it since my surgery last week. So all my new supplies I just received are in quarantine until I’m up to it.

I'm in the "over 65" definition so I've been kicked out of the office to work at home. Supposed to stay in as much as possible for at least 2 weeks I guess. I ordered groceries on line for the first time and they were delivered a couple of hours ago. That suits me fine because I hate to grocery shop. DH is also confined to home. Not only is he old he is medically fragile.
I heard on the news today that "we" are quickly establishing medical facilities and looking at multiple ways to get the homeless into motels and such. If we can do this now, why the heck does it take a crisis to make it happen?
I work for a company that does support services for developmentally disabled adults. We have close to 600 employees. Managing the chaos and rumor mill is a full time job in and of itself. Many of our employees have young children. Closing schools and day care centers is having a huge impact on the workforce. If they have no day care they can't work. If they can't work they don't get paid. I understand that an easing of unemployment rules is being enacted but that is not going to pay them what they normally make. Then there is this issue - If they cannot work that means we have disabled folks with no support services. This all makes my head and my heart hurt!!
OK - I'm officially cranky.

joyfulnana - I hope you get some crafty time! boymom5 - prayers that you're feeling better soon. joblackford - those cards are darling - what a cute (and accurate) little monster! gramma - glad that you and your DH are staying home. Prayers for your clients and co-workers - this is hard on a lot of people -necessary but hard. So DD19 is home with online classes for the rest of the semester. DD13 is home at least until April 15 with remote learning starting March 30th -no word yet on what that'll entail. I'm directing DD13's day a bit more now - found some Girl Scout badge work for her to do, assigned a minimum amount of reading time, and asked her to make a drawing daily that I can email to my sister/BIL (they run a nursing home) to share with their residents. She needs some structure. I struggled yesterday - couldn't settle to anything, not even scrapping. But I'm hoping to spend less time reading news and more time doing stuff today.

joblackford that card is perfect! So perfect! boymom5 I hope you feel better and can use our new supplies. gramma I agree about the homeless, why don't they see homelessness as a crisis to be addressed in the first place?! I'm on the cusp of being "elderly" and am trying to be careful. I work from home and live alone so my day to day hasn't changed much. Just no getting out for lunch to break up the day. I love online grocery shopping though! linda I know what you mean about being unsettled. I feel the same way. I hope you can settle into a new routine with the girls home. I love that idea of having your DS draw something for the seniors. That's so cool! No scrapping here. I think it's because I'm so focused on work, or the news. I can't seem to stop reading all the headlines and finding out what's going on. I'm sure it's unhealthy lol. With no DGS around this weekend I'm hoping to get it together for the crop sleepingbooty is organizing. How cool is she?!

Hey, Joyfulscrappers. Just dropping in to give you a little information. Unfortunately, joyfulnana will need to step away from this board for a few weeks while she deals with work and family health issues. She asked me to find someone else to take the helm until she is ready to step back in. She wanted me to tell you that she is personally okay, just needing to focus her energies elsewhere for now. Happily, joblackford has agreed to take over as your team leader in the intirim. At the end of the month, please submit your points totals to her.

Hope you're all hanging in there. Feel free to check in and chat even if it's just to let us know that you're getting nothing done... I've been up and down this month. We've been in iso for almost the whole month (now we're all officially ordered to stay at home I'm well practiced!) but it's mostly business as usual for us since we already worked at home. I have had some days of sulking, many days spent mostly messaging with friends and family, a lot of Instagram, some productive days... I've been trying to do at least one row of my granny stripe crochet blanket every night before bed so at least I'm earning points for that, plus it's relaxing and keeps my hands busy. I'll post a picture of my progress later. It's looking prettier than I expected! Hope you're all doing OK

I've gotten nothing done at all this month. Between prepping for surgery, surgery, healing, Cornoa junk and then normal life of homeschooling kids, house stuff I can do...well I have no motivation to craft. I began one page a few days ago and then never finished. Feeling just kind of blah! I hope some others are able to get things done while home!

joblackford - I'm having some days of motivation and some days where I feel like I just refresh the news all day. Haven't scrapped since Thursday, I think. Spent the weekend sewing masks and today I'm determined to finish dealing with the new computer. Got SCAL re-installed and one of my genealogy programs, having trouble with another. Now working on making sure all the files I needed are on it.

Surgery and healing are a big deal, so don't feel bad about not having time or energy for anything else. Hopefully you're physically feeling better now and maybe soon there will be energy for the fun stuff. Take care of yourself and your family

Now working on making sure all the files I needed are on it. Maybe sewing masks counts as other crafts? It should! I'm sure they'll be much appreciated. Tracking down all the files and making sure everything is still properly linked up is the worst part for me. I had a bunch of pictures linked to my genealogy program but I didn't really know what I was doing so the links broke. I still have the pictures but it's such a headache to try to re-link them and make sure I don't mess it up again... I just don't have the patience or stick-to-it-ness for that! Hope you get everything sorted! I just got a couple of cards done, a couple more to get finished today and we can call the day a resounding success! I called the dreaded dental insurance customer service while I had my 8am coffee this morning to ask why they hadn't canceled the plan we asked them to cancel in December. The call wasn't as awful as I expected and so I gave myself bonus points for getting that done first thing. The rest of the day is easy in comparison.

Hey guys, just wanted to pop in and say hi and thank joblackford for taking over for me. It's much appreciated! This community We are sheltering in place here until April 24th so far. I have no doubt the mayor will extend that if he feels it's needed. I'm working from home like normal, so no extra down time and life has been too crazy the past few weeks anyway. I've been thinking of you all! Stay safe and well!

Hi - Checking in. This has been a crazy month, but I am going to try to catch up on the sharing thread today. I have done quite a bit of scrapping, so I will share that too. I am working from home which has made it easier to transition to some scrapping after I finish work.

I am working from home which has made it easier to transition to some scrapping after I finish work. It sounds like some people working from home have less time than usual, or maybe just less energy, so I’m glad to hear you’re getting some play time in! I’ve had a hard time keeping up with chatting and commenting this month, but I’ve had extra time to create. Looking forward to seeing what you’ve been making

It seems like a lot of people aren't able to be on as often or crafting this month. I did end up getting some inspiration yesterday and got 6 or 7 pages done (I think 3- 2 page layouts and a single or two.) I'm hoping now that the kids are settled that I can get a few more done! I hope everyone else is enjoying a weekend hopefully off of work.

We’re coming to the end of the month, so it’s time to finish (or start!) calculating points. I’m not sure if there are any challenges that have later finish dates but I’ll figure that out or I’m sure one of you will tell me! Sorry, I barely even looked at the challenges this month. Please post your month end totals here or PM them directly to me if you prefer, and I’ll get them over to grammadee. Thanks And don’t worry if this month was a bust for any reason. We’re all just happy to be here and having fun together/apart, and this month was all kinds of crazy for all of us.
