Welcome to March lynnek, patin, mom, joblackford, gramma, ComplicatedLady, linda, DawnMcD, boymom5, and natscraps! Spring is starting to spring here! Yessss!! I intend to get out and get photos of the signs of spring as they pop up. We have the mega crop which I'm looking forward to. DOUBLE POINTS that weekend! Anyone planning to take part it in? Are you prepped for it? I am not lol. But I have a ton of stuff to work on so I think I will wing it. I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone creates and hope to do a better job commenting this month. That thread can get away from me so fast! I hope everyone is having a good start to the week!

[psst - to tag me it's @ homeschoolmum]
Looking forward to the MegaCrop - haven't scrapped since I finished up my December album right after New Years - I need to find my scrapbook desk first - it's got piles of framed photos and other stuff covering it. One of today's projects... Other than that, not prepping for the crop - I have plenty of projects in progress to pull from.

I’m going to be visiting my family in the Upside Down (NZ) for the second half of the month so I’m going to see if I can power through a lot of making during the next two weeks. I guess if I crochet on the plane that will yield some points too. I’m trying to prioritize what I need and want to do before our trip because I always lose some of my mojo when we get back. It’s discombobulating visiting a different life. Of course international travel is a bit dicey at the moment so there’s also a corner of brain devoted to “what if we end up quarantined” in NZ, Hawaii, or when we get back here. Unlikely, but in that case I hope I’ll have something crafty to do and internet access! Even less likely the trip gets cancelled or my Hawaii relatives can’t come with us as planned. Anyway, I have a LOT on my mind between that nonsense and dealing with the humans of Fbk Marketplace Trying to decide if I should spend a day turning old Christmas cards into new Christmas cards... that would be a lot of easy points! Or if I should stick to my Mother’s Day cards... Or maybe half a day of each? I finished my first crocheted blanket last night, except for weaving in some ends, so once I have some light I’ll be sharing that! And waiting for FedEx to deliver my yarn from Joann’s for the 2nd granny square blanket that’s ready to be joined. Hope you’re all having a good day

My weekend is not looking so good now for scrapping and I'm really bummed about that. It's looking like only Sunday afternoon/evening for me now. :/ Ahhhh joblackford, you remind me of myself! I can never decide what to work on next and give it all a lot of thought. I would definitely be taking something crafty on the trip. I hope you don't end up in quarantine anywhere! How close are you to the outbreak in the Seattle area? I can't wait to see the blanket!

joyfulnana - @ linda tags someone else ( I know, it's confusing) - if you hover over a name, it'll show what the tag name is - for some it's the same as the display name but not for everyone. I'm sorry that you're weekend is looking busy. I'm not sure yet what mine'll be like. DH is picking up DD19 for spring break on Friday and we have dinner -plans with friends on Sunday night...I'm hoping to get some scrapping done in the middle

I posted my finished blanket to the other crafts thread here 2peasrefugees.boards.net/post/2837984/threadWe are around the Sound from the focus of the outbreak, about an hour and a half if you drive, but much closer as the crow flies (or the ferry runs). Well within commute distance, but luckily we work from home. It looks like our county might have a couple of suspected cases. It will be here soon, but hopefully will not find its way into any nursing homes. I feel so sad for the families of the people who have died from the care facility and the other patients there. I'm limiting how much news I take in about it. More worried about the disruption to this long planned trip than personally worried for my own health and safety. Washing my hands properly and singing the Vietnamese hand washing song I saw on John Oliver's show. It's really catchy even though I can't pronounce Vietnamese words

Hi ladies! I am ready for some scrapping this month. Last month was devoted mostly to some prep for a crop. I did every week of 2019 digitally so I only have to embellish now. It was a huge job, but I am really set with some things to work on now. In doing that, I realized that I am definitely not taking the amount of pictures I used to. Luckily, my DD16 does share some of her photos with me, but it has me rethinking 2020 PL. I am thinking monthly might be the way to go. And if I do that, catching up two months is not too hard. My DS11 has a baseball tournament this weekend but I am hoping to scrap some in between those games. joblackford - I really, really hope your trip goes just as planned! I am trying to be positive and use basic good hand-washing rules and the like. The virus has not made it to Colorado yet, but I am sure it is just a matter of time. joyfulnana - I totally agree with you about commenting! That thread moves fast at times. And with the crop this weekend it could really be moving. I hope we both accomplish more commenting this month!

joblackford - good luck with the trip. Praying for all those impacted so far. We have confirmed cases here in Florida but not too near me yet. Singing while I wash my hands as well (although not in Vietnamese, lol). lynnek - good luck with scrapping - glad you'll be able to fit in some this weekend. After very little scrapping in the past several months (I managed my Dec album but that's it), I'm back and working my way through the 29-4-29 challenges - some of which are really quite challenging - thread balls? splatters? Ya'll have seen my pages right - simple, linear, flat?

thread balls? splatters? Ya'll have seen my pages right - simple, linear, flat? this just cracked me up! I'm trying to work my way through some of those challenges too Linda joblackford good luck with the trip! I hope it all goes according to plan. I know what you mean about having to stay away from the news at times. Your blanket is beautiful! I love the black background with those granny squares! lynnek I did 2019 digitally in the PL app. I fell off around September. I don't take a lot of photos anymore either and seldom think to take pictures of my random everyday life. I want to get 2019 finished and printed. I'm not sure I will do that again this year. I've watched RTS month in review videos and I *think* I could keep that up. I really prefer paper to digi.

joyfulnana I think the PL approach works well for people (like me) who take a LOT of very RANDOM photos every day, but there’s nothing wrong with scrapping events or doing a much less detailed monthly overview or whatever works. I like the idea of monthly summary pages - I haven’t seen the RTS ones, but I’d make something like that if I could manage to choose just a handful of photos to represent each month! also, thank you! (about the blanket)

RTS is a scrapbooking channel on YT. She did a lot of organizing videos. Recently moved her new content over to Patreon but her YT channel is still around. www.youtube.com/channel/UCCMeLWSKaY5s56xAeyiu7bg

I know I’m a Diva scrapper this month and not a Joyful scrapper But I still wanted to share since this is where I did so many cards. I finally packed up my flat rate box of cards for Cards for Soldiers today. I told a friend about them and she made 30 cards to add to the box. I weighed our box and it weighs ELEVEN pounds Thank you for all the encouragement!

gmcwife1 That's amazing!! I'm sure they are going to getting that box! You're cards were beautiful! lynnek I seriously have to go to the urban dictionary for some of the acronyms I see around here that I can tell are't scrap related lol. I'm so bummed I voted to have the crop this weekend and now it's turned into not a great weekend to get a lot done. Saturday night and Sunday afternoon I should be able to participate though. Maybe I will be able to make one of the hangouts. I hope everyone is set up for a fun weekend!!

I was thinking/wondering if we want to do or have an ongoing thread for chatting about our donation cards/where we send them/etc. I know I’m not good at heading things, but I will definitely part in participating though Thank you to everyone that has encouraged me to keep going!

So, I have a feeling this is going to be a low scrapping month for me. I'm focusing on editing all my pictures so I can easily get pages together and make better decisions of what I want to scrap. I have been doing a lot for the past few months, but that's making each year have 2-4 albums! I can't store that many going froward, so I need to scrap less and differently!
Plus I was gone this weekend for a conference, spent the week before getting ready for that, I have surgery this week and it will be a bit recovering from that. So here's to hoping that I can at least get my pictures edited and up to date(ish)

No problem at boymom5. You had a TON of points last month, and we all have months when we can't do as much! I need to figure out what photos to get printed too. And then plan some pages. I've done nothing so far this month, so you aren't alone lol

I got 8 cards done today but it was like pulling teeth (troubles with the cutting machine). It’s been such a long time since I just sat down with a paper pad and turned it into a giant stack of cards. It’s the last thing I should do right before a trip but I’m tempted just to set aside a day and play. Everything today was frustrating. I’m hoping tomorrow goes a little smoother. I might have a buyer for some more of FIL’s vintage kitchen junk so maybe that will work out tomorrow. My crochet is going well though

Even my plan to free up space on my phone today by deleting everything that’s backed up to google photos (as well as my laptop, and 2 external hard drives) didn’t work out! I tried twice but I guess 12,000 photos was too many to delete. I got 2000 deleted so I should be ok for my trip but I had psyched myself up to do the whole lot in one process and doing it in batches is so much harder. A lot of frustration today...

How is everyone doing? Hanging in there?
Is everyone going into lockdown? Hope that means more crafty time, not less.
We're taking it all one day at a time. I social distance/isolate most of the time anyway. As an introvert, I've been in training for this my whole life! I've been able to do a little bit more crafting the last couple of days.
