At some point, I saw a video that was supposedly taken right after the shooting and a guy on the street said that Brown started running at the officer. Did anyone else see that video? I only saw it that one time. I saw it, too. There were a lot of contradicting accounts that day. The autopsy specifically showed that the one eyewitness who said Brown was running away when he was shot is inaccurate. Another eyewitness said he was shot with his hands out in surrender and the autopsy contradicted that account as well.

The ongoing bullshit behavior going in that town just reinforces the deep hatred for the police, which has clearly been going on long before this incident. Because of this, I am HIGHLY skeptical of ANY witness who comes forward blaming the officer. I get the impression that most of these "witnesses" would blame any officer under any situation.

Just so that I'm clear on what you are saying - we should hold the accounts of independent witnesses who all agree with each other at a lower level of trust than that of a police department that has something to lose if one of their officers actually did what those independent witnesses say that he did? Why? Don't know who is telling the truth, but Washington Post is reporting a grand jury leak saying that there are other witnesses corroborating Wilson's story: Evidence supports officer’s account of shooting in FergusonlinkSeven or eight African American eyewitnesses have provided testimony consistent with Wilson’s account, but none of them have spoken publicly out of fear for their safety, The Washington Post’s sources said. I'm sorry they have to fear for their safety and I don't blame them with how out of control so many people have been. I'm glad they are providing testimony and keeping themselves safe.

It seems Ferguson, MO, has a history of disrespect between its citizens & the police. Since bias likely influences the perspectives of everyone involved (e.g. officer, friends, eyewitnesses), I hope the grand jury relies on science to reveal the facts. My thoughts & prayers are with the family of the late young man as well as the officer who took his life (whether it is determined in haste or self-defense/interest of public safety).

It said Brown was facing Wilson when he sustained shots to the forehead and chest. The shot to the head was sustained while Brown was in a lunging position. The shot to the back of the arm does not support witness statements that he had his hands outstretched in surrender. It does not specify the distance but it also goes against what witnesses were saying about Wilson. No, that's not quite what it said. FALLING FORWARD or lunging. A shot in the forehead, two in the chest and one in the upper arm - seems unlikely (though of course not impossible) that he was "lunging." Falling down does seem likely. And again, the lack of mention of distance is troublesome. If he was "lunging" from 5 feet, that's quite different than lunging from 40 feet. What I read was the shot to the forehead killed him instantly and he was shot when he was lunging, then the other shots occurred. The third shot (only second to hit him) is what killed him instantly. So, I don't see why you feel it is falling. But - that seems to be a difference in interpretation.

I saw that video trggirl. I also think it's not that unusual for someone to fire multiple times if someone has threatened them or is running at them. I'm sure the adrenaline was surging at that moment.

What we do know is that the police have been acting like they have something to hide. If they were more forthcoming, I don't think people would be so quick to believe the worst. In any case I have seen where a government agency is under investigation for something they are not allowed to talk about it during the investigation. You know that phrase we hear all the time "we cannot talk about it while the investigation is ongoing." So no, I don't think they are hiding so much as they are simply not allowed to talk about it.

And look what all the "sharing" has gotten the town, police, community, media--everyone there so far-- nothing but second guessing, backtracking, and MIS-reporting. Before social media and the feeding frenzy of our so called news reporting, there was once a time where these things could have been sorted through without all the other crap going on. No one trusts anyone the townspeople think the media are their friends, but would exploit them in a second if the story turns, there is long history of the community mistrust for police, and it might not always be justified, there are the dumb asses who live on the town who will go on news and say that if the police is not arrested the town will burn (that just came over my feed earlier this week). The protesting community isn't interested in anything other than the police officer being found guilty--and if not then they will once again go riot. Reading more about it, there are many who just seem to want to be stuck in "thug life" with no respect for the police.

I live just north of Ferguson and I am not looking forward to the Grand Jury's findings. No matter what they find, it will be bad here. If Officer Wilson is not indicted, I think tensions will just explode. From what I am hearing from people who are connected to the case, the Grand Jury may not indict him. With everything that has been reported and misreported I don't think the protesters will ever believe what the evidence may say. It is a mess here.

I used to think that if the Grand Jury did not indict, the Feds would find some kind of charge to bring, but what's being said currently suggests that is unlikely. During the first few days after the incident happened, there seemed to be a number of people on the news who had basically decided that since MB did not have a gun, it was an open and shut issue. They didn't seem willing to entertain the idea that there was ANY justification for the shooting.
