We own a couple businesses, and it's really not hard for me to answer the phone from home. I do it in the afternoon 3 days a week already. I don't get a ton of walk in traffic, a few ppl a day.
It's noon now and I've had 2 people here. Ironically, the wife hacked up a lung without covering her mouth. Nice. So I wiped down everything she touched (including my phone - I use square). I'll have at least one other person today for an appointment for sure. (bridal consult).
On one hand, I love the idea of being at home and not dealing with humans for a while. On the other, I can go the entire day and not one person comes in the door.... most jobs are scheduled over the phone.
My husband OTOH, will have to still go out to do the installs.
ETA: there are currently zero known cases in my county.

Yes I would but I’m an introvert. It's like a dream come true for us introverts! I would stay home if I could but because of my work I have to be here. We are prepared for a nice weekend at home and don't have plans on going anywhere.

I wouldn't mind.. for a few weeks I would be okay I think. I do think though I would get a little stir crazy if it was more than a month.
I would have my crafts to keep me busy, little yard work if the weather would allow it. Very iffy here. Books to read, TV to watch..
That is if I wasn't working too.

Another introvert here. Definitely a dream come true. I have my plants and my books and my food. I have crafts and cooking and decorating the house. I never run out of things to do, make, organize. My DH, a total extrovert, will start working from home next week and he's going to go nuts.

For what I do, I really can't work from home - company never wanted to VPN. However, we just had a meeting this morning that they are getting things ready (bought new laptops) to set people up to work from home. If I could, I would a couple of days a week. Not everyday because I fear I would do more things home related instead of work related if I was home.

I never considered myself an introvert. However, now that I am retired....I stay home 99% of the time, except for my volunteer jobs. (every Monday and then one Friday per month) I am annoyed when DH makes me grocery shop with him.

I'm an introvert as well, but even I would go a little crazy if I had to stay home for too long. I always have things to do and am rarely bored, but I do love going out with friends and going to the gym too. It seems that now that we're being told to stay home, I am antsy and want to get out more.

I am retired and have not left the the house since Tuesday, March 3rd. That is not unusual for me and has nothing to do with the virus warnings.
I enjoy being at home and don’t go out just for the heck of it. I make plans with my friends and go to the store when needed. My DH goes out more than I do, so he will pick up anything we need at that moment. I do my crafts, read, knit, take care of the house, and am never bored.
I will say it’s nice to be comfortable staying in for long periods of time, since we are part of the group encouraged to stay away from people as much as possible.

100%. My dh started working from home about a week before it was mandated by his employer. Flatten the curve.

I’m staying home as of Wednesday noon. I went to Mass, knowing it was probably the last time until April. Then I came home and I’m staying put. The country is on lockdown and we can’t go anywhere anyway. DH is considered essential personnel, so he’s still going to work. But I’m home for the next few weeks.

Yes, absolutely. I would love to stay home and organize and catch up on some scrapbooking. I won’t be able to though unless I or my kids are sick or have had a known exposure. My big hospital just called to see if I can work this weekend too. They are already feeling the squeeze of the school closures.

I work for a law firm and we are going to start working from home starting next week. We are going to rotate coming in to the office to get and scan the mail, but most of our work can be done from home by vpn. The courts here have cancelled all trials for the next 30 days and I anticipate they will do that with hearings as well.

I worked from home for a few days last week because I have bronchitis and wasn't well enough to go into the office (and don't think my colleagues would have appreciated all my coughing!) I'd work from home all the time if I could. Another introvert here so I love my own company and feel like I'm a lot more productive at home without constant meetings and interruptions.
I work in a law firm and basically can do most things from home. We do need some actual face to face meetings and I also appear in court but apart from that working remotely is really no issue.

I just returned to work on Wednesday after being home for four weeks. I love being home. If my employer tells us to stay home (we have no ability to work remotely) I wouldn’t be devastated.
A coworker’s husband is an Uber driver, servicing the airport in Boston, and was so sick with a fever and cough that he was admitted to the hospital yesterday. I haven’t heard if he has a diagnosis but if he has Covid-19 they will have to close our facility. I’m really angry that the coworker is still coming to work. She has hundreds of hours of PTO, or so she says.

I love my family, but don't want us all to be stuck together without being able to leave the house! The kids (17, 20 and 22) are constantly on their phones watching tik tok for hours and it's so loud! I told them today I would go buy them ear plugs, (Best Buy probably won't be crowded) just to keep it quiet.

I would normally say no but I am ready to hunker down for awhile because my anxiety is a bit bonkers. My specific anxiety trigger is sickness so...yeah, I'm struggling a bit. I should just ban myself from reading stuff but I "need" to keep up with it all. I work part time for a virtual school with homeschooling parents so it is business for usual for that. We've cancelled our field trips until the end of April. My daughter isn't thrilled that her dance classes and homeschool co-op is cancelled. My DH has been deemed "too essential" to work from home so if there is anything we have to have, he will get it.

I would. And I expect us to do so beginning next week (assuming that they allow it for government contractors - lots of us are looking for the gov't personnel to be allowed, but for contractors to be told to take LWOP - we'll see what happens in the end).
Either way, I'm perfectly happy to stay at home, I'm just not sure how LONG I could stay at home without pay before it becomes catastrophic.

My job is like your job. I work at a small flooring store & some days I may have 6 customers & some days 0. I could forward the business line to my house. I don't have to install but I have to schedule, do billing, order & do payroll for our installers. I also have to be here for all deliveries. I probably couldn't work from home logistically but I could just not open the store to the public. If I have to be here anyways I may as well not miss out on potential sales though.

This does happen, but the time you save on the morning greetings, the person who wants to chat with you while you are on hold, the person next to you who is too loud etc. sometimes make up for the load you throw in the wash or the door you answer for a package. I find when I work from home I can be way more efficient than in the office with a bunch of people. I went into the office today to run some copies and it took me 3 times as long as it should have because everyone was chatting about the recent events.

I'll go to the grocery store super early, but that's it.

I consider myself an introvert (I cherish my alone time!), but could never do the WFH thing long term. I very much like that my work space is not my home space. It is also difficult to do some parts of my job remotely.

I went out twice this past week, once for grocery shopping, the other to run a needed tool to my husband and didn't even get out of the car. At this point I'm staying in. At 73 and with emphysema I don't like my chances if I should contact the virus. I'm trying to talk my stubborn husband into staying home starting this weekend but we really need the income his service business brings in and it's difficult for him to see his way clear to giving that up.
