Ugh my daughter has an ortho appointment next week where they're scanning for her next round of invisilign. We really can't wait months for the next trays.

AARGH!
I think I will postpone the vet as there really is no reason that my pup can't wait a month for shots.
But the ortho? I think we have to keep.
Thanks for the input. I have another bigger issues with my daughter in Switzerland. I think it may deserve its own thread. I HATE this stuff.

I had knee replacement 6 weeks ago tomorrow and I’m scared they’re going to cancel my PT. My mom had knee replacement in late September. She did about 4 months of rehab, BUT, she was also doing daily exercises on her own which helped significantly. She only stayed in rehab for the extra 6 weeks to help strengthen her leg more as her knee was where it should have been. Make sure you're doing at-home exercises.

I think it all depends on the office. I work at an optometrist office with only one doctor. We don’t double book so there isn’t any time in the waiting room. We also deal with pink eye stuff, so we’re very good at keeping things sterile and clean. But please don’t bring in your kids or spouse to your appts. Having extra people in the office doesn’t help. Can’t tell you how many times parents or grandparents came in with sick kids because they had to be home with them so they decided to run errands. Now with the virus shutting things down it’s even more important not to drag someone along who really doesn’t need to be there.

DD has an orthodontist appointment next week, which are really hard to reschedule since they're so busy. Some of her hardware broke so I was hoping to just combine the appointment with the repair. I had to leave a message but I'm not hearing back from them yet. It's been an hour so I can only imagine how busy they must be right now since they usually call back quickly.
Our own dentist sent out an email saying they'd be open as usual, but asked everyone to reschedule any unnecessary procedures.
ETA: They voluntarily closed except for emergencies.

I had my pap this morning. I considered canceling it but called the doctor’s office first and they suggested that I still come in.

many Drs are going to on-line visits over programs like FaceTime for things that can be seen that way. I guess ortho can’t do that. I’m surprised they’re still working.

I have an ultrasound scheduled for 7 a.m. tomorrow -- liver scan. I'm not canceling -- and I haven't been contacted to cancel -- because I want to get this shit over with.
My dentist sent a mass email this morning that says all currently scheduled appointments will continue until further notice. I have an appointment next week, so let's see if that changes.

I checked the website again and this time got a pop up that they closed through the end of the month. Phew! I had been hoping they would tell me the break doesn't sound bad and we can reschedule. I should have known they'd decide to close.

We have mental health appointments next week. Not sure if we’re keeping or canceling. They’re not in the main medical building but in one that houses mental health and sleep clinics. Ask if you can do your appointments over the phone. Have your provider check your insurance company’s website for information on coverage and how to bill and the companies they are contracted with.

I have physical therapy once a week. I’m going to keep going until they tell me not to lol. But that’s the only thing I’m going to.

I, luckily, don't have anything scheduled except my yearly next month, which depending on how things go, may be cancelling. It hasn't, in the past, been a hassle to reschedule, but I'm guessing that there will be lots of people doing so and it may be more difficult to do so. Still, it's a huge center with lots of people, lots of doctors, rehab, etc. and I'm not feeling really comfortable about being there.
I'd put my dogs shots off for a month. Ours isn't scheduled for her yearly until the summer, so hopefully we're good there. I would, however, not hesitate to take her in the case of an emergency.

My son's orthodontist and my therapist both called today saying appointments are canceled and their offices are closing. My therapist said they are going to start doing phone sessions and she would call me back when they have the protocol figured out.

I have to have a crown put in after a root canal so I can’t cancel. There are some things dentists do that are considered essential services. I’m canceling my cleaning however.

Luckily I don’t have any medical/dental appointments until June. I saw the orthopedic doc about my knee last week, and will continue to work on losing weight so I can have a knee replacement later on.

I had an eye appointment this week, my son had a therapy appointment and my cat has a vet appointment next week.
The eye place just cancelled on me, which I'm upset about because I have an eye disease that requires regular monitoring, but I understand. Just hope it's not to long before I can reschedule. They are closed the next 2 weeks at least.
Cancelling my sons appointment tomorrow, he's fine with it.
The vet appointment I need to keep, unless they cancel because my cat is on a special diet and his food requires a subscription. I only have enough food for him for another month or so.
I have a physical scheduled next month, might reschedule as it gets closer, as it is just a standard early and I can really go anytime (not on any medication)

I had two separate dental procedures scheduled for later in the month. I had planned on keeping them because my insurance changes April 1 and my coverage won’t be as good. I received an email from the office a while ago that effective immediately they’ve shut down their office. They expect a formal announcement from our government soon.

I scheduled a mammogram 2.5 months ago. Asked to be put on a call if someone cancels list 2.5 months ago. I'll be going to the appointment.

We don't have any upcoming dental appointments, but my dentist just sent out an email that they are closing for two weeks. What are they doing for emergency situations? I get if they have good reason to cancel, like exposure, but unfortunately, they’re like doctors. There are dental emergencies that have to be taken care of immediately to save a patients oral health and sometimes over all health. And I hate the dentist to be advocating for a dentist to consider all their options 😂

DD's veterinarian emailed her that they will pick up pets from cars and return them. No one has to enter the building. My vet is starting this tomorrow. I did end up taking my cat in today. Her urine came back clear, but the vet she saw is one I don't have trust in, so I begged the tech to send the sample for a culture anyway and our regular vet will review it. In the meantime, I did manage to get a supply of the pills she used for her last infection, so if the culture comes back positive, I will be set. As long as I was there, I also refilled all 3 of one of the other cat's meds. It's 2 months early, but with things so uncertain right now, I want to be prepared for everything i can be.

I just had a root cancel and the temporary will fall out and risk infection if I don’t get the permanent put on Monday. We already had to rescheduled because I had a cold and they didn’t want to work on me (understandable). I’m going to call tomorrow and see even if they can move it out if the permanent is in. I’m not anxious but the dentist near my mouth flipped me out a few weeks ago and the US didn’t have any confirmed cases then.

This happened today in Ohio:
It is likely your upcoming dentist appointment will be canceled after new guidelines have been put in place by the state during the coronavirus pandemic.
The Ohio State Dental Board has advised dentists to reschedule any elective procedures because of concerns over the coronavirus pandemic.
In an advisory to dentists, the board said the recommendations are intended to reduce the risk of patients’ exposure to COVID-19, and to preserve personal protective equipment and supplies.
The recommendations are to reschedule the following elective procedures:
• Any cosmetic or aesthetic procedures, such as veneers, teeth bleaching or cosmetic bonding
• All routine hygiene appointments
• Any orthodontic procedures not including those that relieve pain and infection or restore oral function or are trauma-related
• Initiation of any crowns, bridges or dentures that do not address or prevent pain or restore normal oral functioning
• Any periodontal plastic surgery
• Extraction of asymptomatic non-carious teeth
• Recall visits for periodontally healthy patients
• Delay all appointments for high risk patients, unless it is an emergency
The board said that sharing supplies will help fellow clinicians as they undertake the “greatest viral threat in modern history.” Dentists were given instructions on how to contact their local emergency management agencies to do so.
Dentists also were asked to consult with patients over the phone and with photos, as well as to use a detailed questionnaire to screen them for potential symptoms.
“This is a very difficult decision, but it comes at a critical time and it is our responsibility to take leadership in this situation and have protocols in place to reduce the spread and impact of coronavirus amongst the communities we practice and live,” the board said in the advisory. “The plan and recommendations will change as the situation demands and evolves.”
A time frame for how long these measures will be in place was available. Calls for comment have not been returned.

The permanent didn’t even get a proper fitting so I’m in pain on top of that. I’m not a germ freak but last time the Hygienist was coughing and I was definitely side eyeing her and the virus hadn’t left China yet! I wish I knew how to put a crown in 😂

I'm having the last of my radiation treatments this week. We're being screened as we go in the building (it's a cancer center, not attached to a hospital) and have to use the hand sanitizer before signing in. I'm not sitting while waiting to go back, it's only about 2 minutes anyway, and I'm sanitizing again after changing in and out of a gown. I'm in the building less than 15 minutes.
Next Tuesday I have an appointment to see my oncologist. I don't know what to do about that one, I think I should call and ask.
I talked to my 72 yr old mother today and she told me she was going to the tax office tomorrow to renew her car registration. I had to tell her "No, mama. No! That can wait!" Thankfully she told me she wouldn't.
