If you like Ricky Gervais, you’ll love *After Life* on Netflix. I’m rewatching season one - season two is already out. Have you watched his series called "Derek" (Nefflix). Ricky Gervais plays a man (with an unknown disability) who volunteers in a nursing home. It is very sad sometimes, but also very sweet! I used to volunteer in nursing homes, so it really resonated with me.

I’m about midway through a New Zealand series I randomly stumbled upon called Step Dave. It has a great ensemble cast of characters and I think would be classified as a funny drama. “Kiwi slacker Dave's life is turned around when he meets the woman of his dreams. Only problem is that she is 15 years his senior, and has some serious baggage in tow.”

I think he’s one of the original creative forces behind The Office, tying my fave programs together. Thanks for Bringing Derek to my attention.

1. I found a new series Deadwater Fell ( found it on Acorn via Amazon Prime) starring my "boyfriend" David Tennant. It was sooo good; I only wish it had more epis. It's the first show I've ever watched that was filmed in Scotland, and I enjoyed some of the gorgeous scenery, too. www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEQsLSfl8gA But much more than that, I reallllllly loved "Broadchurch" and wish it'd had more seasons. Not only did I love David Tennant's character, I also loved Olivia Colman's. They were SO GOOD together, and the stories were great! -------------------------- 2. Also enjoying "Manhunt" (Prime) which is based on a real-life 2004 murder case in London. 3. cadoodlebug....Thanks to your reco, we're also enjoying "DCI Banks" (Prime) I think Shetland was also filmed in Scotland. We loved that show a lot! And I agree about Broadchurch! We finished DCI Banks and hope there is another season. We have one more episode of Unforgotten which we'll watch tomorrow. Such great shows!!!

"Unforgotten" (Prime / (maybe) PBS, Britbox ? ) VERY good UK murder mystery! So many twists and turns! For those that don't have Prime, it was made by PBS; so it might be possible to watch it on their website. We finished this series last night. Man, some of it was brutal and tough to watch but it was so good!

So many good recommendations, thanks so much we'll never get through them And we're still loving Heartland.. we're up to SEASON FOUR! flol An Accidental Soldier: watched this movie last night and I give it four stars. WWI movie that takes place in France. Just a tiny difficult to follow, with it being some English, more French, and NO subtitles. We had to rely on the perceived context. Although.. I did not consider trying the closed caption feature of our smart TV, could I have set that to English or am I thinking ahead of the technology. As usual I have no idea, duh Great movie! Layce

I finished the Great Flower Fight on Netflix, I enjoyed it quite a bit until the last 2 episodes. Up until then I agreed with the judges and liked all the teams, but I hated how bratty one of the team members was in the penultimate episode and was super mad that they did the same thing they were pissy about the episode before and ended up winning, It was a good show though and nice fluff.

I just finished Never Have I Ever on Netflix and LOVED it. Very light and fun. And the episodes are only about 1/2 hour each. Hoping for a season 2!

We are currently watching two British crime shows on Prime. The Jury ~ we're just 2 episodes in and OH MY!(It stars a young Gerard Butler!) We started Line of Duty and watched 2 episodes and realized DS would really like it when he comes back so he's going to catch up and we'll continue.

We finished The Jury last night. With only 1 season and 6 episodes it's a quick watch. It was well done and very compelling. It dealt with the trial and the personal lives of 6 or 7 members of the jury.

"I Know This Much Is True" Just finished last night---VERY dark, VERY sad and difficult to watch sometimes, but I loved his dedication and deep love for his brother! Mark Ruffalo's acting was SUPERB! Not only did he play identical twins; but they took a break while shooting in order for him to gain thirty pounds and portray his schizophrenic twin. This is a LONG trailer and really sums it up! www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4KBGydqlVk

I just finished The Orville. Very similar to Star Trek and I enjoyed it. Orville was great, I wonder if it will come back? I hope so. It’s the only show my husband and I watch together. It’s supposed to move to Hulu only this year but who knows now thanks to Covid. I’m hoping they continue it.

Loved all these shows. In answer to your question there were 5 seasons of DCI Banks plus the pilot show. Some great viewing there and worth the watch!

Not sure if it's on Prime or Netflix but we watched The Shawshank Redemption yesterday afternoon. DS had never seen it so DH and I happily watched it again as it is one of our favorite movies. Sadly, it came out the same year as Forest Gump and lost out on the Oscar for best movie.

Finally watched UNBELIEVABLE on Netflix from 2019. It was very good. About the investigation to catch a serial rapist. The rapes were done In flashbacks and not graphic if anyone has concerns. The two women investigators worked so well together. Only 1 season (8 episodes / 50 minutes each) and no plans for a second.
Thanks for the recommendation.
