I've felt a couple over the years, small ones. There is a huge fault that runs along the Wasatch front. We have an annual "Great Shake Out" awareness campaign that everyone basically ignores. Most of our earthquakes aren't very big, but we are always under threat of a large one. I felt this mornings, and one of the larger aftershocks, I live near refugeepea. Before today, the last earthquake I felt was epicentered in Idaho. That's the last one I felt too.
They are showing a trailer park that had quite a bit of damage. I hope they can make the repairs they need. Earthquakes are usually so minor, no one gets insurance.

Oh my goodness! Not that there is ever a good time, but could there be a worse time?
Please stay safe!

We felt it in Northern Utah County and it felt BIG, even to this California girl who has lived through some big earthquakes in CA (and, also in Taiwan and China). No damage here, but, the local kids are kind of freaking out. Mine are staying pretty calm after the initial shock. So glad our power is on! I don’t think I could handle a power outage right now. 😓 As was mentioned above, The Wasatch Fault Line is major and runs right along the Salt Lake area. We definitely have earthquakes here, but, this one was quite large for Utah. I remember talking a lot about the possibilities of a large earthquake here back when I took Geology at BYU.
Edited to add: We haven’t felt any of the aftershocks

Oh my gosh, the last thing anyone anywhere needs right now is any kind of natural disaster. 😢

My single mama cousin just relocated out there from CA, and she is rattled by this and she's used to earthquakes!
Poor thing is a bundle of nerves between the corona virus and now this. She's absolutely questioning her decision to move away so far from all of her family, poor thing. She's been so happy, too since she made the move, but now she feels scared and alone.
Gah. Please make it all stop. Please.

Hi everyone, another Utah pea here. Just wanted to report that I'm ok. Not that I post that much but in these times it feels important to check in.
I work at a school so I went in today. No students but teachers and staff were there. Driving home, I didn't see much damage (for locals, I was on 3300/3500 South driving west from about Highland Drive). I know there's more damage in Magna and apparently downtown but it doesn't seem to be TOO bad.
For any of our Peas who have suffered damage, I am so sorry! I hope you are all OK!

This morning's quake woke me up out of a sound sleep. 7:09 a.m. 5.7 magnitude.
This afternoon DH was on the phone with his mom when an aftershock hit. She lives about five miles north of us - it was funny to hear her say "Oh my goodness!" before we felt anything - it her before it hit us. Also odd to see our windows shaking - the glass almost seemed to move in waves. And also, these earthquakes are LOUD. Like, semi-trucks-roaring-through-the-living-room loud!
We have no damage at all. However, our grandfather clock stopped at 7:09 a.m. when the first one hit. We haven't re-started it yet.
And yes, I'm expecting locusts any day now!

Not even a mile from downtown Magna. I had just gotten up and thought at first a semi or a dump truck had barreled down the hill behind my place and hit the house jumping over the railroad tracks. It happened one before to my neighbours next door. Then about the time all the shaking was done I realized what happened. Very scarey! My poor neighbour just got a call her mom had a stroke early this morning and was in ICU at University Hospital. She's feeling very picked on. I'm okay so is my home and just a few pictures and dishes broken. Super thankful I got the cast off my broken leg last week.
