UPDATE: Surgery went well. They did a lumpectomy and took several lymph nodes (pathology results in a week). I'm home and comfortable. My dd had made a great meal for us. I'm about to take my next dose of Tramadol and go back to bed. I am feeling very blessed to have all of you in my life, Peas. Stay safe because you all matter to me.  My breast cancer surgery is still on for tomorrow morning. Any prayers and good thoughts will be very much appreciated. I have to be at the hospital by 7:45 and hopefully home by mid-afternoon. Because of the virus precautions, my husband and my best friend have to wait in the car - nobody allowed even in the waiting room. Going to be a long day for them. The surgeon will call my husband after surgery is over and then the hospital staff will call him when he can pull the car up to the entrance. My daughter will be at my house, making a couple of dinners for us so I won't have to worry about cooking right away. And more importantly, taking care of my dogs and cats. I'm just super grateful the surgery is still a go, given all the surgery cancellations. The nurse today told me that my surgeon cancelled all but 2 surgeries and 1 of them is mine. One reason could be is because my cancer is now a case study since it is so rare. Either way, I am glad to be giving eviction notice to that cancer tomorrow! Onward and upward! |
