Dewryce suggested a spin off of my post in another thread, and I loved her idea. So, assuming you'll be restaurant deprived (or at least moderately so), during the quarantine, which restaurant do you think you'll choose to visit first once the restrictions end? I'm thinking Outback for a ribeye and a loaded sweet potato (and their wedge salad -- YUM)! But then again, it could be pizza, or it could be wings, since I've never made wings at home and I love them. All I know is that by the time I cook all our dinners (and some lunches) at home for as long as this thing lasts, I'll be ready to sit down and be served! And I'll never take restaurants for granted again.

Hmmm. Fun question. Let me see... I do love a good steak. But I think I would pick dh and my favorite Mexican/southwestern place for some delicious chips, salsa, and guac with street tacos and a giant ass margarita! 😂We (used to) go there quite often so going again would feel normal and really great.

The local Indian place, no question. I think they add an addictive chemical that makes me crave it fortnightly.

In N Out Burger. I think the drive thru is still open. But since I am on forced shut down from work, and have no funds coming in, I am not spending money on anything except necessary things(like milk).

Here is my slightly modified answer from the other post. Off the top of my head I’ll say Eddie V’s Seafood for some amazing scallops and butter cake. Was going to go for my birthday in a couple of weeks but I imagine it’ll be a while. Then an excellent steakhouse for bread, steak and mashed potatoes. For lunch, one of my favorite local shops. I live for sandwiches, and all but 2 of my favorite restaurants in town are due to their excellent sandwiches. Mmmmmm. For breakfast/brunch a local restaurant in our inn. To start we’ll have the biscuits and sausage gravy. I’m not a gravy girl but this stuff is amazing, has some of that addictive chemical MaryMary was talking about. Sometimes I order only this and some fruit. And then their “Crab Omelet...Lump Crab Omelet with Scrambled Eggs and Fresh Herbs. Topped with Hollandaise.” Sounded weird to me, so glad I took a chance. Wow, so good. As much as DH loves the above, he’ll want comfort food, so Luby’s

My friend’s Mexican restaurant. It was the last place we ate out (last week) just as the sh*t hit the fan, and it will be the first place I go back to, assuming it survives this hit.

Burton's grill, a local chain. I'll have their house salad, risotto with grilled shrimp, and a pomegranate martini. Roll me home happy. Next night I'll go back and get the filet with fries and a glass of malbec.
I'd get takeout, but I don't think they're doing cocktail to-go cups.

I feel like this is a subject of a MASH episode when they’re all in Korea missing the food back home. Hawkeye ends up ordering ribs from this place back home and they actually come!
I go to a bakery by my house once a week. I love their soups, sandwiches, salads and they make the best homemade chips. But like the OP said - the restaurant experience is what I miss most so I’ll go anywhere. After making all of the meals...

The Lazy Dog - we got take out from them for my birthday, but they have cut their menu down to about 1/6 of what it was, so the choices were minimal.
A local place called Rosemary’s Thyme.
A local Mexican place named Guapos.

I'll be going to a fabulous Polish deli called Kramarczuks in Minneapolis. I also will be getting ravioli from Sweet Taste of Italy, a chicken sandwich from Popeyes, and a fountain Coke from McDonald's. I really miss meeting my BFF for lunch every week. ![](http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r481/2peasrefugees/Smilies/sad.jpg.gif)

Man, we have so many great local places, I think the first day of freedom I will choose a breakfast place that has delicious smoked salmon eggs Benedict and for dinner my favorite restaurant that has a caramelized fried chicken sandwich and adult milkshake.

Either a local steakhouse for a trip around their salad bar, prime rib, loaded baked potato and a glass of red wine, or a local sushi place for their sushi & sashimi platter.

I’ll be dying for some pho or dim sum. Sushi. Basically Asian food I generally don’t make at home.
I’ve been making Indian food at home and we stocked up on basmati rice, so it’s been fulfilling that need, although I still can’t make it as good as some of the local spots here.
I know I’ll also miss burgers — I didn’t get any ground beef or fixings, lol.

DH would pick Chinese for sure. DD would probably choose Arby’s or Subway. I’m sure we could get any of those things take out now still. I don’t know what I would pick. I’m pretty much a go along to get along type when it comes to stuff I don’t have to cook or clean up afterward!

the keg - hands down.
start with escargot, lots of bread to dip in the garlic butter, filet mignon with bearnaise sauce and the garlic mashed pototoes with a side of green beans. i will complement it with a lovely glass of kim crawford sauvignon blanc.

This is already the longest we haven’t eaten in a restaurant. I hate it. It’s the most meals we’ve ever had to eat at home in a row and the most meals I’ve had to cook in a row. I am not here for it.
We go out to eat a lot. We go to Starbucks a lot.
I better be so skinny when this is all over.

I've been craving Five Guys for about a month. And nobody else was or we were busy with other things etc. So that's my choice at the moment. Ooh, or the bread pudding french toast at a local restaurant. We usually go every couple of weeks, but it's probably been well over a month with that one too. They top if with a huge mound of fresh made whipped cream and strawberries.

Our local mexican restaurant for sure.
We went last week right before things got crazy and I'm already missing their food.
