I have seen a few in the past couple weeks and love to hear other good ones or ones that weren't so great.
The Good Lie-My ds and I went to see it and really enjoyed it. Great story and knowing it is a true story made me teary here and there. My ds 17 enjoyed it too.
The Judge-Love, love, loved this movie! I want to go see it again. Seriously in my top 5 favorite movies of all time.
Gone Girl-Um, I just saw this yesterday and think I am still recovering. Brilliant story, I had not read the book but more graphic than I care for. Very well done just beyond what I enjoy in terms of visual things that I don't enjoy watching.
Anything you have seen lately that was good?

Gone Girl - I loved it and thought it was a great adaptation of the book. IIRC, the screenplay was written by the book author which always helps.
Million Dollar Arm - Good but not as "baseball-y" as the previews led us to believe.
If I Stay - Good but not great.
I want to see St. Vincent that starts tomorrow - with Bill Murray and Melissa McCarthy.

Finally got to watch The Dallas Buyers Club Great acting by Matthew I must say.
Saving Mr. Banks was good too.
I have Grand Budapest Hotel at home now but I'll be watching this thread to see what everyone suggests.

They aren't recent, but DH and the two older girls and I started watching the Amazing Spiderman movies. Entertaining, appropriate for our young teens/preteens, and much better than I expected them to be!

We saw Fury on Tuesday. Not for everyone but a true depiction of what WWII was really like. We also enjoyed Gone Girl, This is Where I Leave You, The Judge, Maze Runner and The Equalizer.

My husband wants to see Fury but I just can't watch war movies.
We saw Gone Girl and my husband loved it and I thought it was good but not a favorite
Judge LOVED IT!!!!!!!
We also saw the alexander and the horrible no good rotten ect day. Anyway it was cute a nice change to watch a movie without the F word used all the time. I HATE that word.
Also saw The Equalizer and it was a little bloody but it was good. My daughter hated it but her hubby liked it lol.
We see a lot of movies. My husband is a movie NUT!!
I also really liked Million dollar arm.

The only movie I have seen recently is The Maze Runner. It was a movie that my 14yo DD wanted to see. I had no clue what it was about, but I ended up enjoying it.

I saw The Boxtrolls and loved it. The story was good and the stop-motion amazing. Loved this one, too! It was really well done. All my movies are kid/family friendly. We also saw Alexander's No Good Horrible Day and laughed our butt's off! There was one scene where the mom accidentally walks in on her teen son in the bathroom that was so funny! Later in the car he still feels awkward and she tells him to get over it that she's seen every penis in the car! I looked over to see my son's reaction and his eyes were wide and he seemed horrified after realizing why I was laughing so hard.

I thought The Judge was fantastic and really enjoyed The Good Lie!
Maze Runner was decent. I liked the movie more than the book since I knew what to expect.
I want to see The Singer.
I will skip Fury because I know it will be sooo intense. However, I am slowly reading Unbroken and will see that. It looks great!
And looking forward to 23Blast opening in a few days.

We went to see Men Women and Children. Very disturbing, but a huge wake up call regarding kids and technology. A must see for parents of tweens/teens.

We saw St. Vincent this weekend. It was an excellent film. It was far better than I expected. I was actually a bit shocked to see that Bill Murray is only 64. He looks at least 10 years older than that.

Last two movies were Gone Girl and The Judge. Both great, both well done. Robert Downey Jr is Oscar worthy. He was that good in this movie.

We recently saw Gone Girl and the Judge, but I'm even more pleased to tell you all that a few weeks ago I FINALLY watched Cast Away. Don't know what took me so long. I bought the DVD about 5 years ago, and I love Tom Hanks. Excellent movie.
