My husband is in law enforcement. They already have one officer and one 911 operator out due to suspected C19 in his department.
He wants to talk tonight about making a plan in the likely event he gets it. Not sure if he is being pessimistic or what, but seeing as he can't self quarantine the chances of him getting it are higher than the average public. Which makes my chances of getting it higher. And our sons chances higher.
Our son and I haven't left the house since Monday when I came home from work and picked him up from daycare. I am crazy about washing our hands, using hand sanitizer, wiping everything down with clorox wipes, making sure everyone covers their mouths when they cough/sneeze (DS and I both have bronchitis).
Given DHs job, and his exposure, do you think it wise for us to sleep in separate bedrooms until this is over?
I was mostly fine about it all, until he brought up the fact that he will more than likely get it. Now I am rethinking everything. đ©

Yes, definitely. Separate bathroom for him is best too.

God this sucks.
That's what I was thinking as well. We have 2 baths upstairs. The hall one is DSs. Think I'm going to end up making that DHs washroom for now. đ

Seperate bathroom too then you don't have to be so diligent with cleaning it after every use if it was shared.

It definitely isnât a bad idea. Other things to remember...donât share food/drinks, separate toothbrushes, and wash towels daily. Just basic steps to reduce the likelihood of transmission between the family.

Don't forget, he also can't be in the kitchen or other shared spaces at all, either, or you're still liable to catch it.
DH has a desk job at the fire department basically coordinating their whole response to this, and because he has to physically go in to work every day (7 days a week for now, anyway), my assumption is that DD12 and I will catch it as well - if we haven't already. We have a separate guest suite, but even when we split up, we're rarely successful completely containing the crud. I suspect it's mainly because someone will go in the kitchen to get a drink or something, and touch fridge or cabinet handles, and it's done.
