I so want to show you all some photos of my daughter's wedding that took place last weekend. I have hosted them onto photobucket but can't get them to load on here. All I get is an X. Any ideas?

I post photos from Photobucket. When I have the photo open on Photobucket, I right click it and select "Copy Image URL" from the pop up. Then when I come here I click the Photo icon and paste the Image URL into the box that says "Image URL".

I don't get that option when I am on Photobucket. I go to the IMG link and copy that to the "insert photo" link on here. I still just get the X though. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

I haven't been able to post photos here, either. User error, no doubt, but still frustrating.

I think it is the idiosyncrasies of this board. Someone gave the directions and it was too tedious for me.

I dont think you need to hit "insert photo". I copy the IMG link and then paste it directly into my reply, it already has the format included.

I have been using the Add Attachment button on the top right hand corner when you hit the reply button. This works for pictures saved on your computer, not sure about saved on another site.

What happens if you right click on a photo in Photobucket? I have never used their IMG links, I always just right click and copy the URL. But, I do that for any photo from any website that I might want to share. Some sites have right-click disabled, but Photobucket doesn't.

It's pretty straightforward just click on the box with the picture and then insert your link in to the pop up box.

I have tried the right click on the photo, I have tried the copy and past link I have tried it all. what am I doing wrong. I love this board and format except for the post of pictures

I have had trouble posting pix, too. I usually use the attachment button to share a pic saved on my computer, but that pic can be no larger than 1 mb. The photo icon doesn't work for me, either, when I try to post a pic from PhotoBucket.

Here is a step by step tutorial on how to post a picture from a photo hosting webpage I do not use Photobucket, I use imgur, but these results can be achieved by using it. Just be sure to follow the correct coding steps. Also I use a Mac and Chrome as a browser.
To host an image on imgur first go to www.imgur.com and select "Upload Images"

If you are uploading a photo from your computer, select "Browse Your Computer"

After you have selected the image you would like to host, click on "Start Upload"

That will bring you to a page with your photo and a selection of image codes to use for various formats. ALWAYS choose the "BBCode (for message boards & forums) Right click and copy the link. When you click in the box it will highlight the entire link for you. The link will look the same if you use Photobucket. With the brackets and the letters "IMG"

After copying the link, simply paste it into the Reply box and hit post. Your image code should look like this:

After all of that, you should be left with a post with the photo of your choosing.

There is a size limit of 1 mb for attached images so it will always be small. This is when you actually host the image on ProBoards, not just any image from Photobucket or Imgur.

padresfan619 the admin took away the ability for us to host onto proboards.

padresfan619 the admin took away the ability for us to host onto proboards. No she didn't. After lots of traffic ProBoards gifted us with a certain amount of storage space to host images. But it isn't unlimited, which is why independent hosting on Photobucket, Imgur or TinyPic is encouraged.

When a picture is posted by the attachment button, it is small. But, if you click on it, it comes out full size.

When you go to link up a photo, the box that pops up already has http: typed in it. I delete that and then paste my whole link there. Just testing

I used tinypic the other night, but I'm not sure I did it the proper way, but it worked eventually.
I uploaded a picture to tinypic. I copied the link for forums and message boards. I clicked on the picture icon, deleted the http in the box, and in order for the photo to show, i neede to delete the IMG bits on each end of the copied link. Maybe I don't need the picture icon bit.
Off to test...

Yeah..it works. I was over-complicating!
