Been watching a lot more you tube videos [isolating ]and have realised that if the presenters have oddly shaped, very pointy ,very long, obviously fake or brightly coloured nails I find it really distracting and can’t watch the video. The Hedgehog Hollow presenter springs to mind. I enjoy her video content but those brightly coloured pointy nails are a real turn off for me Anyone else?

I hear you. I mean I’m not a fan of that nail style anyway so I find it distracting in any situation as it’s not something that appeals to me.
Nobody I watch on YouTube has over the top nails actually. I appreciate it when people take the time to have groomed and painted nails rather than bitten down but I can’t say it bothers me too much and doesn’t put me off their content.

Yes, so distracting that I’ll turn it off But I’m also not a fan of those type of nails anyway. Kind of like the overly long fake eyelashes on some newscasters. I get so distracted watching them blink with those huge lashes I can’t pay attention to what they are saying

Yes, I hate watching videos with weird nails / talons. They're so distracting with the way they have to pick and poke at things, I usually end up swiftly moving on. Same with a ton of bangles/rings, like, I'm not here for a fashion show, can you maybe leave out the bling so I can see what you're actually doing with the paper?
I'd rather just see people's normal hands.

Not just in scrapbooking videos but all over TV...the Voice, American Idol, etc. and some of them could literally be considered weapons lol they are so long and pointy!!
I always wonder how people wipe their bums 😜 but really, there are a lot of everyday tasks they must find difficult!
To each their own but not s trend for me! I prefer a shortisj French manicure but admit to watching tons of FB videos with fancy painting and design techniques.

I don't mind a bit of length on real nails, or even fake nails that are a normal length, but I really don't care for super long over decorated talons. They kind of get in the way of what the person is doing, making it a little hard to see for me. In addition to personal hygiene, I always wonder who these people have doing their dishes, laundry, etc. because those nails have to get in the way or break doing household chores.

Yes. I don't mind a bit of length on real nails, or even fake nails that are a normal length, but I really don't care for super long over decorated talons. I don't mind short or mid length nails that are decorated, but if they are long talons even with plain jane color, it would be distracting.

This doesn’t bother me but what does bother me is overly chipped nails. I will turn off the video.

Yes, I totally agree with you on the nail length. I'll add bright (neon-y) colors and more than one color. And sorry to say that the giant smart watch is distracting for me too.
Just to be clear, I do appreciate that people are putting out content for us for free. But if I'm distracted I get very little out of it.

I notice talons but they don’t bother me enough to make me stop watching. I’m more amused by them because of how they keep people from picking things up. I’m more distracted by unkempt, yellowed, varying lengths, or chewed to bits nails. I don’t expect everyone to be high maintenance- I’m not- but a few minutes here and there to care for your nails is all that’s needed for basic grooming.

Nails don't bother me unless they tap them or use jazz hands. Now lilting voices make me turn off the video. A few people make every sentence sound like a question. I get that the content is free and I can turn it off, but I do wonder if people actually talk this way or if this is there filming voice. I have a louder low range voice (IMO) and wonder how I would come off on video. My job was all about projecting into a large classroom, so I imagine I would be too loud.

I do wonder how the talon ladies accomplish certain tasks that I won’t mention. 🥴

Yes. I would rather see clean, unpainted nails than the garish stuff too many yt'ers wear. I turn them off.

Then I became a stay at home mom. All the handwashing and such ruined my nails. Let alone how many times you nick a small piece while cooking. Then gardening season with all the dirt getting ground in. Forget it. I'd be in YouTube time out for sure.

I watched a gal the other day who had brightly colored fake talons, I think they were red and gold chevrons, very bold. But one had broken or something, I didn't notice it at first, but she apologized and wrapped a piece of washi tape around it so it wouldn't detract, distract, or bother people... and that was ALL I could see for the rest of the video! Of course it didn't stick well, so she was unconsciously worrying it, sticking it back down while she talked. The content wasn't really my cup of tea anyway, which didn't help, and it was a project share/show and tell, so lots of close ups of her hands holding things. I didn't get far.
I hardly notice unless the nails are really pointy or clicky, or the content isn't that good. If I'm enjoying the content a lot the nails don't much bother me.

The super super long ones and the stiletto shaped ones I find are distracting if there is hand close ups as are heavily chipped nails but the colour and design on a nail is something that I actually really love.

After the initial shock I don’t pay much attention. I’m more put off by the ones who are unprepared, disorganized, have loud background noise, etc. I’ll turn those off every time.

Yes.. not a fan of them anyways.. and I will usually skip on by.. but the chipped or badly needs a manicure is equally disturbing. Just regular old nails, painted or not, or a French manicure is good enough and nice enough for videoing.
IF I was video, you guys would love my 'man hands'.. I have my dad's hands, so does my sister (I'm outta shape and she is very much in shape, but still same hands). I would find that more distracting than anything. I can just hear the comments, "LOOK at those huge hands".. hahaha.. Don't even get me started about trying on rings. It just doesn't happen.

Nails don't bother me. I kind of like the fun colors and especially if the presenter has nice hands. I appreciate anyone who is providing crafting content. One type of content I don't like is these paper "Celebs" just talking. I really think they think they are stars. I don't tune in to hear them just hanging out together or promoting a new line. I do appreciate the ones who are making things and being supportive at the same time. That's really needed right now. I want to walk away feeling inspired, not like I wasn't good enough to be invited to their party. I don't know, maybe I am just grumpy.

I don't necessarily mind the colors, but the fake, long nails where they can't pick up or use any tools properly drive me insane. I usually can't get through a video. I would much rather see shorter, natural nails over the long fake ones.
