We've started doing movie nights where we each take a turn picking a classic or favorite movie. We have combined several lists like Oscar Movies, AFI Top 100, along with our personal favorites from which to pick. Here's what we've watched so far:
Annie Hall Good Will Hunting Dominick & Eugene Crash Rain Man The Sting LA Confidential Midnight Cowboy Chinatown Slumdog Millionaire
Anybody have suggestions for our list that might not have made any of the lists? British comedies, indie films, etc.?

I just watched Now Voyager with Bette Davis. I had forgotten how good that movie was. It is definitely melodramatic but still good.

Ohhhh I misread your post. Are you interested in documentaries? If so, I’d recommend Honeyland. It was an Indie documentary film that was nominated for an Oscar.

I just watched Now Voyager with Bette Davis. I had forgotten how good that movie was. It is definitely melodramatic but still good. I just love that movie. Classic Hitchcock movies would also be good, Rear Window, North by Northwest...

Our kids were enthralled with The Maltese Falcon the other night.
We are going to show them Casablanca this weekend.
(These are not classic movies, but my kids love them and they’re seriously underrated: Oscar, Undercover Blues).

For kids and the family Ponyo. : Japanese film cartoon which is mesmerizing and lots of really famous voiceovers, a real treat Parent trap the original Swiss family Robinson dated but enjoyable mild family survival theme. Beautiful animals which were probably not treated right but are still really cool to watch. Clue Bill and Ted's adventures. Love keanu. Bollywood movies can be really fun.
These are not real classics but they have helped me and my family.

It's not old enough to be considered a classic, but The Hundred- Foot Journey was a beautiful movie. I really loved it.

Many great ones on this list already and while some called out Hitchcock in general, I'd add these two specifically: To Catch a Thief Dial M for Murder
And a few more that I don't think I saw upthread: An American in Paris Desk Set Hello Dolly How to Marry a Millionaire The Philadelphia Story Some Like it Hot
