are currently on your computer?
I'm having to backup some pics tonight because my computer is getting slow and I am trying to get to only pictures from 2014 on my computer. Just wondering - how many years do you have on your computer RIGHT NOW?
I had pics from 2012 on there! I used to only keep about 500 pics on my computer - I backed up and printed constantly and I just got lazy, I guess.

I have digital pics on my old computer (and backed up in multiple ways) dating back to my first digital camera from maybe 2001? On my newer computer I have pics going back to 2011 when I got it. I never delete anything, and I'm sure I must have close to 18,000 photos stored. I bought one of those Photo Keeper memory stick things that will hold 250,000 photos but I haven't gotten around to putting my pictures on it yet!

I think I have 2012-current....just moved about 3 years worth off to the EHD after I made a 2nd backup. I was running out of room on the laptop hard drive.

Everything since I bought my first digital camera in 2004. I didn't know they weren't all supposed to be on here? Maybe that is why my husband (who works with computers and does all the computer stuff in our house) is complaining our back up program (Mozy) cost keeps going up...

I have from 2006 - current plus I also have a lot of scanned photos and slides from my childhood and heritage photos from both my parent's families. I have mine backed up on two separate hard drives and I love having all my photos together.

I have pictures back to 2004...but they are on 3 different hard drives (we have a cord to hook up our old hard drives from dead computers via USB), 3 different portable hard drives, and there is lots of duplication so if one fails I don't lose them My current computer had to get a harddrive transplant last week. So I've put 2014 back on her, and left all my older ones on the other devices.

I have the last few months on my computer, but this is a good reminder that I need to pull out my external hard drive and move them to it! I also back up a lot (but not all so I'm sorely misorganized) on Flickr so that they're somewhere else--I have photos going back to the year 2000 on there-- not a lot, because I didn't do a lot of digital until a few years later. I need to burn to cds or 2nd harddrive though because I worry about my harddrive crashing. It shouldn't--it's fairly new and I got it custom made, but I still worry! I take a LOT of photos and I'm terrible at deleting even bad ones, so I probably have hundreds of thousands. I could really stand to get more organized with my photos and delete blurry ones/etc. It is definitely a project, but I know it would be worth it.

From 2003 onward when I had digital pictures. I have them on a couple of backup drives as well, but I always want access to all my photos so as I upgrade computers I always move them all over. I'm on my fourth computer since then and they've all moved with me.

That's a tricky question, I have some digital photos going back into 2000 still on my computer, but I also backup my photos in multiple locations. My photos from 2000-2007 were pretty much few and far between, then I had my daughter in 2007 and so I took more pictures and then in 2010 I started doing Project Life so I've been doing Picture-a-day since then, thus my photo collection has grown immensely.

I only have 2014 on my computer right now. I try to move them to the external hard drive each year after I've printed what I want. I probably should do it more often. My external drive has a few years worth. Before that I saved them on CDs. I really need to check those CDs to see if they're still good and transfer them also to the external drive. I don't completely trust any of the technology, so I print almost all my photos. It drives my techie son crazy. For some reason he thinks they will always be available digitally - silly guy!

I think back to when I went digital - so maybe 2007? I definitely need to clear mine out!

Mine go back to 2009, when I first got my Mac. I do have them backed up to an external hard drive, but haven't taken the time to clear them out.

I have all of mine since i went digital in 2003. Of course they are on a second hard drive, on an external drive, copied to cd's, &also on my DH's computer. My winter project is better organization of them!

Another one who has 10 (now almost 11) years of pics on my computer. 2004 was my year to go digital, too.
And while we have an external hard drive, I have yet to have my husband teach me how to back them up. I know, I know, I am seriously tempting fate. We've had a few computer crashes in the past, and my IT brother-in-law is always telling me how lucky I am that he's able to recover my pics every time.
I REALLY need to get on that backing up thing.

I am so far behind that I have my pictures in boxes because I HAD to print them. I have 2000-2005 in regular film and 2005-2009 in digital, but was so use to printing that I have those pictures printed too. 2009-four weeks ago is finished. I am going to a crop tomorrow to catch up on the last four weeks.

I have from 2010-now on the computer. I also have all those photos burned to DVD's, Shutterfly and Picasa. Most of them are printed too.

I have photos from when I first went digital, so back to 2001. Mind you, there aren't so many from the early days as there are now. Have a Mac so mine are backed up to Time Capsule and also to Dropbox, but I think I need to get an EHD as well, although I'm not sure how the new Photos app is going to change things next year.

2000-current. I have an older larger laptop that I used only to store pics on. They are also stored on an external hard drive. My older laptop's screen busted, so now they are stored on my smaller laptop and the external hard drive until I decide an alternate plan. My smaller laptop is limping along.

On my hard drive, I have this year only...but I moved all my photos from 2004 to 2014 onto one-drive when we purchased a new computer. It was such a pain to move them to the new machine that I thought that I'd store them in one-drive to avoid slowing down the new computer.

I have most of mine backed up on an EHD. I bought one that is compatable with a Mac since I'm getting ready to make the switch.
Thanks for this PSA that we all need to get on it and organize/back up our photos.
I saw the Photo Keeper Memory Sticks at HL if you want to check them out.
